I hope Gardy is still working on Sammy's mechanics.

FYWW did just enough, with Lopez the only clean appearance. Classic 2010 torture, we win another 1 run game.

True breakthrough year for Belt, he's finally reached his potential. Just looks dangerous every time he's up. Batting 3rd is perfect for him.

7 games up feels good. 2nd best record in baseball. Keep it rolling....would be nice to get Romo back. Amazing how we don't miss Pence (yet), need Duffy back too. Gonor had a very nice play at third tonight.

After the game they did Prince-themed fireworks, it was pretty cool, kids loved it.
Since Pence went down on June 2nd (he last played June 1st), the combination of Parker/Williamson are hitting .300/.417/.517 in 60 at-bats.

MacParker has been a very nice upside surprise, as has Suarez.

Jake Peavy in his last 6 starts: 3-1, 1.91 ERA

One reason why a team excels like the Giants have is to get production from surprising sources. Mac and Jarrett have answered, for now at least, the need for an outfielder. I heard the team is looking for infield help. With the bullpen looking better recently, that does seem to be the biggest weakness, especially if both Adrianza and Tomlinson are sidelined indefinitely.

And even there, Pena has been a nice surprise, hitting .444

Gillespie is slashing .222/.250/.370 in June but is 5 for 14 since Duffy went down. Most of that is the 4 for 5 day he had against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Without the 4-5 day, he's hitting a robust .111

Hope he picks it up, we need his bat. Otherwise Grant Green is knocking on the door, and Kelby may be back soon.

But he DID have the 4-5 day. You can't take that away.

Grant Green just went on the DL.
Myles Schroder moved up to replace him. I understand that not all promotions are based on merit. Organizations sometimes like to move up top prospects to challenge them or diamonds in the rough to see if they can rise to the challenge. But all being equal (in terms of organizational fillers), wouldn't Ali Castillo's .322/.362/.394 a better choice than Schroder's .272/.328/.352?

By the way, the RiverCats have taken a bigger hit on the infield than the parent club. Currently, their infield comprises of:
1st - Travis Ishikawa, Ryan Lollis, T.J. Bennett
2nd - Juan Ciriaco, Rando Moreno, T.J. Bennett
SS - Rando Moreno, Ruben Tejada, Myles Schroder
3rd - Mitchell Delfino, Myles Schroder, T.J. Bennett

The Giants' minor league rep seems well deserved with this lineup.

I think Arroyo may move up at the break. He's doing well at AA (.290-ish)

Still, the Squirrels' and the Rivercats' bullies have been AWEfulllllllll. The Giants keep calling up their guys, but man.

Don't count Moreno or Delfino out. They may be decent players...

Might be. I haven't heard from him since he left in frustrated exacerbation.

I've spent the last 3 days mostly unconscious. Apparently, I have a "mild" case of viral meningitis. Good to be back receiving some shit in the real world. Delusional fever for hours on end is no fun. I saw a couple innings of the Bum game last night. Hopefully, we take the series today.

Good to hear you are doing well (seriously - get well, dude), but, um, we were talking about Carney and how he was so frustrated with the Giants hitters when he was our hitting coach...
