It would take the 20th, and maybe more. But he would be the biggest impact WR outside of Justin Jefferson, who would probably cost multiple 1's.
And he would need a new contract, which the Steelers can afford and the 9ers can't.
Only thing anyone else in the league could have done is entice Russ with a multi-year guaranteed contract. No one offered that. So he got to choose the team he wanted to gift a free season to.
And Fields turned down 4 different suitors to get to go to Pittsburgh.
So if he's not Good enough for them, why does he have to be good enough for us?
He doesn't have to be replaced, that's a choice. Could take a wr, a tackle, or trade down.
Fields is no different than Pickett. They are both reclamation projects. Both ruined by OC's and HC's, if either ever had a chance.
I'm not looking at Fields as a possible Franchise Player ever, and that's what a team needs.
