A lot of baseball players used to have their best seasons in their late 30s/early 40s too, but then MLB got tough on PEDs.
Bonds had his best OPS as a 39-year old.
Cal Ripken had his best season as a 38-year old.
That shit doesn't happen anymore.
But I applaud Bron for getting hair plugs...
Ray's game wasn't really centered around his athleticism and size though, he just refined his jumper and his release. LeBron's not killing anybody with 3s.
Yeah I'm just saying that his decline will be rapid, and with the Cavs missing a Kyrie or IT right now, he's having to log more minutes...
Lebron ran his mouth about the president, his team stinks now.
Coincidence?
I find myself hoping the Cavs lose every game and Lebron has the worst statistical season of his career.
I'm sure many others are sending those same vibes his way. It's a lot to overcome.
He's also 32 years old - In...
He's going to LA.
He lives there. He called it "home" on Twitter today. He was personally scouting Lonzo at a summer league game.
It will be Lonzo/Ingram/Lebron/?/?
If I had to guess, I'd say Lonzo/Ingram/PG13/Lebron/Cousins
With Wade signing for the exception and being a sort of mentor...
Fairly certain this was already shown to you.
NBA players' "prime" years are 23-29.
The cake is baked as far as Lebron is concerned, look at his win shares/48-
From age 23-29 he didn't have a single season where his WS/48 was under .242
At age 30 it dips to .199, then back up to .242...
Actually the dumbing-down already happened, it's why we have so many automatons graduating from public schools who are just so absolutely certain that they know this or that, yet are unable to prove or substantiate any of it.
They feel like they "know" it because it was drilled into their brain...
I feel like if KD retired today, it would be a David Robinson situation, and he would be undervalued as an all-time great but his PER/per48/rate stats would be top-10 all-time.
Stat accumulation doesn't define greatness to me.
By that rationale, Lebron is also doomed because he doesn't have the rings of some other all-time greats, and he left to try to get the rings.
Makes no sense.
4th all time in PPG (Kobe is 12th)
8th all time in PER (Kobe is 23rd)
9th in Win Shares/48 (Kobe is 56th)
Even in career win shares, Kobe is 15th and Durant 44th. If KD averages 12/season like he did last year, he'll pass Kobe in 6 years. KD is 28.
The NBA hasn't seen anybody with the combo...
I sure do.
Hit me with your most impressive 5 stats where Kobe is ahead of Lebron. Bonus points for per-48, rather than career points or something where Kobe played a full career and retired, and Lebron has at least a few years left.
I'll start you off - championships.
Next?
Kobe is 23rd all-time in PER. That's worse than Yao Ming and Dwyane Wade.
Win shares/48 he ranks 56th all-time. That's worse than Manu Ginobili and Dwight Howard.
Don't mistake Kobe "greatness" for Lebron hate.
The problem with the Cavs is that the last 2 years they went into the draft with zero picks.
They can't supplement their vets with any kind of energy or youth.
Say what you want about the Warriors, having guys like Damian Jones, Patrick McCaw, and now Jordan Bell is good for them in practice...
1. Jordan
2. Kareem
3. Lebron
4. Magic
5. Wilt
6. Shaq
7. David Robinson
8. Hakeem Olajuwon
9. Kevin Durant
10. Bird
That's what mine is for now. Let's see what Durant and Lebron do with the rest of their careers.
I love how teachers are incapable of proving their claims to students nowadays.
For things that are so "scientifically well-established" they sure can't prove any of it worth a shit.
Good for these kids, having questioning minds and being skeptical.
The reason the Spurs don't need Kyrie is Dejounte Murray.
He's 100% going to be a star in the NBA.
The Spurs are stuck with LMA's contract and his awful defense vs the pick and roll. But they're actually doing the smart thing and attempting to compensate for LMA's shortcomings by surrounding...
