say what you will about him, he knows basketball.
caitlin had a subpar game, for her, in the finals. she dropped 41 on sc last year, along with a game high 8 assists.
Absolutely, Magic Johnson's the best I've ever seen, but you need a team around you too. And you can't judge her as a player based on one game against one of the stoutest teams the NCAAW has ever seen.
supposedly she made that one second gesture after her 6th 3 pointer in a game over a year ago.
i never saw her make that gesture once or taunt anybody in the entire tournament.
fyi--
T Johnson also had a massive front line on her team that out rebounded Iowa +22, as well as other offensive weapons iowa had to focus on. T Johnson isn't the primary focus of every team they come up against. If Caitlin goes 7 for 11 they still likely lose. She needed an LSU type effort for them...
19 points on 11 shots? Who shot 80%?
If iowa was going to beat South Carolina Caitlin was going to have to score big.
Caitlin's shooting percentage was down this particular game, but over the season she led the nation in both scoring and assists, the only player to ever do that, and she did it...
I guess all the leading scorers must be chuckers then. Her field goal percentage was better than any of the country's other leading scorers in the top five.
I didn't think the offense was going through her enough, although I would rather see her driving to the basket more, and either creating...
lol, she led the ncaa in assists.
you can't judge her based on one game against a team that lost once in 2 years, to iowa btw.
she looked a little tired, that happens when you get down to the end of tournaments. And we're talking about women's basketball here, not the Men's Pro League.
I didn't notice Barkley or Rodman playing today.
catlin didn't have one of her better games overall but still shot 38% from three points, iowa shot 39% as a team, from 3 points, while sc shot 42% as a team.
stupidity cubed.
because they have a huge frontline, while iowa is probably a little tired after having to play lsu and u conn.
catlin led the ncaa in assists, and will go #1 in the draft. they did beat sc last year too.
Angel was on the superior team both years.
Who's all the talk about? Who owns the NCAA scoring record, a record that stood for 50 years? Who's in the final for the second year in a row? Angel or Caitlin?
I don't want to judge Angel personally but publicly what she did in 2023 was a very bad look and she paid the price.
Hopefully Angel Reece learned something from this.
Angel Reese 2023...
A much more talented LSU team routs Iowa, and much the larger Angel Reece taunts Caitlin Clark after the game, and gloats in the post game presser..
Caitlin Clark 2024...
Caitlin responds to the challenge plays one of the greatest games in women's basketball history and...
jordan not only had a great supporting cast, but also a goat coach, and was a favorite son of nba management, who built him up to sell tickets.
he was not a great playmaking point guard like magic, or a dominant big like wilt or kareem.
i'm not a follower of women's bb, so not sure what your referring too.
but i can see catlins incredibly skilled, intelligent, is very likeable, and good for the game. i'm not going to nitpick or try and psychoanalyze her. you don't get to her level without having a little swag.
0-7 from three points area in the first half. didn't play her best. she makes her threes no ones shutting her down. she made things happen by driving. a pinpoint passer but also high risk at times.
shes the leading scorer in the ncaa. she's obviously a great player at least on this level.
i don't know her personally, but if your a sports fan, hard not to like her. she's a female stephen curry. good, not great athletic ability but incredibly skilled and smart, and not bad looking either.
after looking at it again, it look like a defensive back cutting off a reciever from his route, a clear foul. if she hadn't leaned in with her arms they might have let it being it determined the outcome.
