This season, Penn State is loaded. Two new arrivals, Van Ness and Facudon will both be all Americans 1st year out. New recruit: Joe Sealey, still in High School, committed to Penn State. He is the NR 1 high school wrestler and just won the world championship for HS kids. Won every match with...
Had Ohio State realized what they had in Joe Burrow, there would be two more natties on the shelf. He was never given a chance at Ohio State. Not to worry, Florida suffered through Urban Meyer as well. Lousy judge of talent.
I'm good with the top 13; the order will sort out later. Florida plays LSU which will be the big match up next week. Someone is leaving the top 10. Interesting game as Florida has one of the very best defenses in the country. LSU has a fantastic passing attack.
Penn state will be playing...
Lots of early season mistakes, however from my perspective, the Gators have a lot of talent; especially on defense. IMO, the Gators deserve to be in the top 10 and if a running game shows up; maybe a top 5. Looking forward to the rest of the season. Sure glad that Coach Mullen has arrived.
I see those teams in the playoff all staying inside the top 7. Add Ohio State, Texas. Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and possibly Michigan all preseason top ten probably not in that order.
Florida was not a very good team early on. Dan Mullen did a great job of fixing that team and it showed down the stretch. No way does Kentucky hang with Florida now. Next year will be the start of another 30 straight wins by Florida over Kentucky. I guess one win in 31 tries is about...
IMO, he recruits well but his play calls are suspect. Should have used Tommy Stevens more to give McSorley some much needed rest. A healthy McSorley would have been a lot better than he showed today.
Agreed, Penn State is excellent against the run and if Kentucky can not throw, it's going to be a long day for the cats. If McSorley's receivers stop dropping footballs, he will pick apart that defense. Probably one of the more under rated QB's in the country.
I like UCF and I do follow them....Memphis(twice) and Temple gave them all they wanted. Again, if they even give LSU a decent game, my hat is off. Can they win....doubt it.
UCF was a better team last year and Auburn is a better team this year. I thought the topic was UCF THIS year. That said, have to give UCF credit for a small school being competitive with much larger and better programs. If UCF even stays in the game with LSU, my hat is off to them.
IMO, Georgia is too big, too fast, and too talented for Texas to hang around. Alabama was lucky to get by them. Before this week, I was hoping Georgia would get Michigan and we would see a good game. I certainly had Michigan pegged wrong as they lost to a somewhat mediocre Florida team...
UCF is a good team who played a mediocre schedule. If that team played in any of the power conferences; they are out of the top 15. Someone ranked them number 8 and will be hammered by Number 11 LSU.
Oklahoma needed a few more guys on defense. They had to put 8 in the box which left the slants open all night and a lot of single coverage on the wide outs.
It's a pick-um; however have to go with Alabama. The two best teams in the nation are playing; no doubt about that. Seems to me both those teams do it the same way; great on both sides of the ball. IMO, Alabama has more depth and that might tell the story in the 4th quarter.
Agreed; by being excluded from the top 4, each Big Ten team gets a lessor opponent. I also thought Michigan would be too much for Florida. There might be something going on between the Michigan players and Harbaugh. Yes, who picked Purdue to play Auburn; a team loaded with size and talent...
I think there is some emotional issues regarding Michigan. With all that talent and get blown out twice in a row tells me something is going on in that locker room.
