I’d love to think I’m as exclusive as you seem to think I am. I keep telling my wife that we are exclusive. She tells me to shut up and clean the bathroom.
The top 2% in the US consists of more than 6,000,000 people. Not exactly an exclusive club. Trust me, when you hit retirement age you will probably be surprised at how much you have accumulated.
I agree with you 100% regarding the fact that $3.5 million isn’t much for a retirement, and this is what I was telling the guy. He estimated my net worth at $3.5 because of some Comments I made regarding the recent return on my IRA and 401k. The fact is that he underestimated my retirement...
I have no doubt that my group was special. Evidently, so was my daughter. She is graduating from Mendoza and has an offer of $150k to start. ( not counting a $20K signing bonus). And trust me, she is not the only one with a solid offer in hand.
while this thread has been very good for my ego, I just have to look at the three guys that I roomed with to see that $3.5 million of net worth would not be that impressive. I find it hard to believe that my one room happened to contain four guys that exceeded the net worth of 400-600 average ND...
So I read the rest of your post, and using your logic, if I’m worth $3.5 million, I’m the equivalent of a college football team who finished first or second in the nation. And since the $3.5 million was just an estimate for the IRA and the 401K, if the actual net worth was significantly higher...
so the top 1.5% of the US households means that a $3.5 million net worth household would rank in the top 2,000,000. I seriously doubt ranking #2,000,000 should be considered rarified in any respect.
$3.5 million is certainly not rarified air. And I think it’s at most a moderate amount for many, if not most investors. Certainly for those who have hit 60. As for my charitable donations, I give some, probably not as much as I should, most of it going to colleges. As for my taxes, I pay what...
my IRA and 401k are up over a million in the last year. I’m not that concerned about spending 3 cents a gallon more for gas. Trump’s wall was his biggest disaster, so hopefully that is a joke that we will never have to see again, and the problems in the cities seem more to do with Trumpers than...
it wasn’t “the equivalent to”, a vote for Biden, it was an actual vote for Biden. Face it, there is not a person out there who could have lost an election to Trump. Even Biden ended up beating the crap out of Trump. And as we all know, Biden was not a good candidate. He was simply far superior...
now you’re sounding like a Biden supporter. I don’t think you realize that Biden supporters are starting to love this whole Let’s go Brandon stuff it makes it look like Biden has a sense of humor while at the same time making the trumpers look scared.
I think most realize that Trump is far sleazier than Joe. And I really don’t see trump as less senile than Biden. Which probably explains why Biden won by seven million votes. face it, no one really likes Biden, and he would have lost against any legitimate candidate. But Trump proved to be a...
