Probably. But the same points work for Kareem too
If he had come directly from HS to the NBA he'd still be the all time leading scorer and his cNBA resume would be even that much better than Jam re s compared to what it already is
Ultimately there's a reason you don't see anyone comped to...
Kareem is the best HS player ever
The best college player ever
His NBA resume is as good or better than James statistically and he's got more rings
Personal accolades are similar but when you factor everything in from their entire careers KAJs resume is superior
Kareem is the GOAT by so much it's not even worth debating really
MJ and LBJ both have an argument for 2nd along with a few others ( Magic, Kobe, Russell and Duncan most notably )
From Wash i think a lot given they're only moving one spot but Caleb is a big deal to them
Plus I'm sure there are teams who think there's more separation than i do
I personality dont see why the Bears cant do both A. Trade Fields and B. Trade 1
You'd get a 2 or a 3 for Fields, add a ton of draft capital by trading 1 and you'd still have 2 top 10 picks to draft a QB
Plus a ton of money to spend in FA
The narrative they need to choose one or the other...
Iowa is basically . 500 on their past 20 bowls and had always been right around that number which is games vs other P5 leagues of similar ilk
And Iowa has a winning record vs out of conference P5s on that same span
Onve again you're arguing "Iosa sucks because they don't beat awesome teams...
This year Iowa wasnt very. Thats not indicative of historical performance over the last 40 years/20 years/10 years etc
No one is arguing Iowa was his this year
But the notion "they never beat other P5 teams OOC" and " always lose when they play anyone good" is simply wrong
Iowa wins more...
Yes
The B10 W teams aren't as good as Michigan, OSU and PSU
Neither are 80% of every other league in FBS
If you're comping every team in CFB to top 10 caliber programs then they all suck
This isn't rocket science
The B10 West is fine. They're just not top 10 good but neither are pretty...
NW 5 straight bowl wins
Minnesota 7 straight bowl wins
Iowa and Wisconsin 4-2 in their past 6 bowl games
The notion the B10 West doesnt do well vs other leagues in objectively wrong even if you guys want to believe it's not
Those are the realities as opposed to the fantasies
Sorry guess it was 4-2. And yes they lost 5 before that. And before that they won 3 or 4 in a row
I get what you're saying but ultimately Iowa does as well against the big programs as any other program of their ilk
Im not crazy enough to expect us to consistently beat Michigan/OSU/PSU but we...
Iowa is 5-2 in their last 7 Bowls man
Yes this team this year as no good
But they lost their top 2 QBs , their 2 best WRs to the portal and their 2 best TEs
And still won 10 games
It is what it is
The offense will be better next year and the D will still be elite
I don't hate that either
I just worry with him coming off injury and he doesn't seem like a great fit schemec wise
But he's obviously an upgrade over what we've got now too
She's from Atlanta and that's pretty much the hub of R&B/hip-hop music
So could be a fit
If we bring back Smith and Fontenot they're not going to pin their make or break year on a rookie
And if they go get a guy is much rather have Russ than Fields
For sure
Id love to get Russ on a 2/3 year deal in Atl
We be huge favorites on the division the next few seasons and that would match well with our current roster and guys we have coming due for new deals in 2-4 years
He will be relatively cheap for whoever wants him
Basically he's only owed 54M over the next 2 years then a team can move on from him easily
So if you think he's an upgrade over who you've got now then you're paying him like a mid tier QB
I don't really see any argument that he's not still...
Heres something interesting
The much mocked B10 West
Last 5 bowl games for each team in the division
Northwestern 5-0
Minnesota 5-0
Iowa 4-1
Wisconsin 4-1
Purdue Illonois Nebraska 2-3
24-11 as division which is the best record record any division in CFB over each teams last 5 appearances
If this was year 2 i think id agree
Fields has improved every year
He's still not a top 20 QB but he has at least shown that it's possible he could eventually be an acceptable starter in the NFL
Issue is he's going into year 4 and the Bears are likely going to have 2 top 5 picks.
Do...
Plus look at how much better the AFCN is that the AFCS
It's just common sense really
I'd actually be OK of no one from the South got a bid. They haven't even made a SB in over a decade you know
Let's be frank. The AFCE is clearly the better division historically and is better at the top this year
The Jags couldn't hope to compete with the teams in the AFCE year in and year out
