I like Diggs, but he has never lived up to that type of money. Its a 16 game season, and he has yet to make it. Usually misses 4 games a year. If I were Adam, I might just be thinking...WTF? How about an adjustment for me?

I don't get why it's so difficult for people to fact check with quick internet searches on this board, or why it seems to go completely unappreciated when someone says things based on evidence rather than pure feelings and emotion. But I'll try one last time with the Diggs situation, which again - I called well before others here.

As far as Diggs "living up to the hype", it depends on how you look at it. For one thing, he was originally a 5th round draft pick who has seen pretty solid upswing each season since he came into the league, all while having to switch QBs every single year he's been here - a young Bridgewater in 2015, Bradford in 2016, and Keenum in 2017. 84 catches in 2016 and 64 with 8 TDs is 2017 with Thielen opposite him and those QB's, especially Keenum, isn't too shabby. You're also flat out wrong about him "usually missing 4 games a year" - yes he's been banged up here and there, but he missed 3 in his first two seasons and just 2 in 2017. Ideally he could suit up for all 16 games, but his injury issues have been way over exaggerated.

And for the last time, they literally just tied up a QB with record breaking guaranteed money of $84 million over 3 seasons. Obviously, they were going to do everything they could to keep the offense around him intact, and locking up a WR who has produced very solidly while showing several flashes of star potential was going to be a priority now. There's also a pretty good chance that Diggs breaks out and crosses that 1k receiving yards mark with Cousins at QB, which would have made his price tag skyrocket trying to sign him in 2019 instead of getting it done now.

So come on guys, use a little common sense when it comes to the Diggs signing. Besides everything I've mentioned already, he's also expressed an extremely positive attitude about wanting to stay in Minnesota, and has never had off field issues either. It never would have made any sense to let him walk.

Diggs' presser on his contract and him talking about his Dad seemed genuine. He sounded like a guy that is actually grateful and someone who won't stop improving because he got paid. He sounded like a dedicated individual. And again, his emotions about fulfilling his Dad's requests. Good for Stefon Diggs.

He might have officially "missed" 2 or 3 games, but he played sparingly in others. 84 catches? And barely broke 900 yards. Not exactly breath taking. Add about 400 yards to that total and we can talk. Otherwise, he still comes up short in my book. Also, 8 touch downs. Thats not a bad number, but once again, it isnt elite. Nothing he has produced to this point can be called that. Wear your purple sun glasses if you need too, but I am just saying. I know elite receivers when I see them. They have elite numbers that say that they are. Not the case here. Not unless you do a lot of stretching, hedging and excusing.

Thielen has 3 years left on his deal, he has no leverage

They all do, to a certain extent. If he has another year like this, I'm sure some noises will start to rumble...

Well I suppose, but you don't see many hold outs with 3 years left on their deal.

I was thinking more from the management side of things. You know, keep THAT guy happy. He has earned it.

If he puts up another season like last, noises will occur. At that point, there will only be 2 remaining years.

Pretty much. One without the other? Thielen has shown to struggle a little, when Diggs was out. They really are 1a and 1b, and it's worked.

Hopefully the ankle injury to Remmers doesn't linger. Not much has been said, outside of going to miss a couple practices.

I think its going to be very important for a WR to step up. The league changes, and teams figure guys out. If we sit back on just Diggs and Theilen, well, it might not be enough. Rudolph, Treadwell, the kid from Canada...

Maybe Cook turns into the second coming of Chucky. Would love to see that happen. Keeps Diggs and Theilen viable and dangerous. Man, its almost time!

Easton out for season

I'm a little concerned to see the O-line injuries already starting this early on in the season. I am already confident that O-line needs to be the priority next off-season. They seriously need to bring in like 4-5 fresh faces total between free agency and the draft both as starters and bench depth. They addressed the starters issue reasonably well last season but that lack of depth keeps wrecking us as the seasons wind down. I also don't want to see Cousins running for his life out there on a consistent basis after they broke the bank to get him.

It's to the point where I'd be happy to see them go O-line for the first 3 rounds in a row in the draft unless a can't miss player is there BPA at another position.

Nice preseason start for Cousins in Denver. 4-4 with a TD, with three to Diggs including the TD. Very fitting after Diggs's new contract. Very curious to see how things go in the regular season, but it's looking promising enough thus far. Even Sieman and Sloter did pretty well against the other backups. I'm inclined to feel like they should hang onto all three of them for the final roster.

Wish the best for Case Keenum in Denver but happy to see our starting defense hold up against him.

Fact is no matter what you think he has not proven anything in three seasons.
