When they were in Atlanta?

They were still St Louis when they won. I said Atlanta for a reason

I know but lots of dudes on this thread are arguing the titles count no matter where they won 'em.

This is hilarious - THE TROLL THAT STARTED THIS THREAD IS ACCUSING ME OF TROLLING - STFU
He started the thread to ask if fans of teams with no titles or maybe won one long ago and are in a big drought think their team can win a championship. And then when he tries to argue why LA fans maybe shouldn't brag about titles the team won elsewhere you say he's jealous of the Lakers and chose the "Losers Timberwolves" as his team because you want to enjoy all 16 titles your team has won....in a thread about teams who never win.

I think the closest the Sacramento Kings came was the year that they came close to beating the Lakers and only Robert Horry's shot stopped them. There is no question they would have taken it in the finals. That is unfortunate, but I do think that the draft is the way to go and drafting wisely is the key. If your team has been in the draft four or five times in a row, and they are still a lottery team - I think we both agree that they are being mismanaged. The downside to that is that it takes that long to figure out that your front office needs to be change and then boom, you have to start all over again, Many of the small teams have repeated that cycle over and over - The Lakers in my opinion go lucky when Magic Johnson got involved. They broke the cycle big time because the Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak combination was NEVER going to put together a winning team - Never.

That being said, I see no reason why the Laker fans shouldn't be happy about the championships, but if you as perspective fan brings up the subject - then expect Lakers fans to brag. I mean seriously I haven't bragged one time about Robert Horry's shot that screwed the Kings, but that was one hell of a series - some one was definitely going to be pissed and yes the Lakers got lucky as hell. The Kings was really good those few years and my point is they can do it again if they ever get good management. I hate to tell you though Vlade has to go first

I think a lot depends on what the team takes with them when they leave. When the Lakers left Minneapolis, the kept the team name, colors, records, titles, etc.

When the Sonics moved to OKC, they left the team name, colors, etc. behind.

As for titles won in the 40's and 50's when they were in Minneapolis, those titles were from before I was born, so other than being counted as part of the 16 the Lakers have won, they don't mean as much to me as the 11 I've seen them win.

They still wouldn't mean as much, even if they were won in LA because I wasn't alive to see them.

Yeah. Let's just conveniently ignore the fact that the Lakers keeping their name after moving from Minneapolis to L.A. made them perhaps the most improperly named team in pro sports. lol.

Not in my lifetime.
Or that of your children or your children's children. They wouldn't be those lovable Clippers with a ring.

You think Kawhi makes them a contender?

They got a long way to go.

i don't disagree, and passing on a talent like Porter for one of the worst defenders in college basketball was very Clipper-esque, but just having an elite player like Kawhi is a good start. Plus the elite market.
