He's worth it if you look at what other less effective guys are getting. Dude is incredible. There isn't another RB like him in the league.
Meh- he's a RB. RB's getting carries isn't very special; even the difference in running ability can only amount to so much in this NFL. What's special is the receiving ability out of the backfield.

Quite a few don't want to hear it- but the truth is the truth.

Agreed. That is what makes him worth the money. He's a beast as a runner and he is a great receiver who gets a lot of YAC. Plus he loves his mom. Saw him on Family Feud and the question was "Who would you most like to be kissed by?" And he said "my mom". I thought that was cool.

All running backs get a lot of YAC as most of their receptions are at or behind the line of scrimmage. Bell was 3rd in YAC despite haxibg the most receptions in total. His average YAC per catch for guys with 35+ receptions was middle of the pack. Once again he simply benefits from how he's being used

Nonsense. Watch the game. Its obvious how much more effective Bell is than other RBs in the passing game. he's unique.

He's not more effective than Gurlwy, Kamara, Johnson ( David or Duke ), McCaffrey and he gets worse YAC than nearly all of them.

Bell is very patient and has the best vision of any RB in the game and perhaps as good as anyone I have seen. If you just watch him going through the muck at the LOS it's pretty special.

I think perhaps you are too hung up on the stats side of things. You can read those in the paper, but your eyes will tell you how good guys are. I suspect that being a Falcons fan that maybe you don't watch a lot of Steelers games. What players are asked to do in the passing game is often an important part of their YPR. You just can't compare guys on different teams and in different offenses as if it's always a telling stat. Was Marvin Hall the Falcons best WR last year?

I've said Bell is very solid but he is aided hugely by how he is used . I think that's the right analysis . You're free to disagree. Ultimately I believe there are 10-15 other guys in the league who would have Bells impact or better if they played in Pittsburgh . It's just ju opinion but it is based on watching games and yes the stats

Sure. Guys who I believe would be just as good as Bell with his same usage

Freeman
Kamara
McCaffrey
Howard
Hunt
Gordon
Fournette

Guys I think would be better

Gurley
Johnson ( Arizona )
McCoy
Elliot

This doesnt account for Cook or Barkley who I think would both be better but there's no pro film to support that at this point

All this assumes these guys getting the same usage as Bell

Bell is used that way because he is special. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be used that way.

DeAngelo William's did the same thing with Pittsburgh when Bell was out . Bell is gone but its susten aided. A plethora of proof for that

His last 2 years in Pitt William's had 14 starts for 298 Carrie's, 1250 yards and 58 catches for 500 yards. Sorry but he was old as fuck and his numbers were comparable. Just reality
