The Nets. Like seriously. WTF?

The Sixers. Trying to get too cute with these trades. Just pick a guy and stick with him.

The Raptors.
I wasn't really paying attention to the Nets or Raptors. The 76ers trading Mikal was confusing to say the least, I think he fit what they needed. I don't want to say the Kings are a loser because Bagley could be great, but passing on Luka just hurts.

I'm still trying to figure out what the Lakers were thinking. I can almost understand Wagner as a stretch 4, but he's not going to be able to defend and 25 was too early. They traded in to 39 and took a draft/stash oversized point guard/forward that is underathletic, doesn't shoot particularly well or defend? At 47 they take a perimeter shooter in Svi who again won't be a defender whatsoever. All 3 foreign players (but 2 who played in the NCAA).

Lakers had spoiled us with draft picks recently, even their later picks. This looks like a stinker to match up with their championship team drafts when they were throwing draft picks away. I'm at a loss for words...

Based on what I've seen from the guys in college, I think Bagley will be the best player in the draft.

Which I don't think it's the best draft, but it was a good pick.

I'm worried about his defensive potential, but he was a beast on offense at Duke. As usual with draft picks, it's gonna be a while before knowing how good/bad this pick really was.

Well in the end that sucked, but maybe the offseason trades/FA signings will be better!

Draft thoughts in no order:

Kings king'd it up. I still think Bagley will be a good player but even his biggest supporters have to admit that he has some bust potential. How big that is is debateable (I say its small) but there's a chance. But there's no chance Doncic is a bust. I say his floor is solid starter. His ceiling is about the same as Bagley's (multiple all stars). So since Doncic has a higher floor, you take him every time.

Don't understand why some people are all about Atlanta having a good draft. They added some players. That's about it. None of them are slam dunks and one of them (Young) might have the highest chance to be a bust. At least they got an extra 1st rounder though.

What Philly did to the Bridges Family was cold blooded. Even the KGB was like "Whoa. Show some heart"

I saw Russillo say on SC that he talked to multiple teams that failed Porter Jr after getting his latest physical results. I personally would have still bet on his talent if I were in the 8 to 14 range. Definitely think the Clippers should have taken a shot at him with their two picks.

Surprised Bates Diop and Shake dropped as far as they did. Some team should have taken them higher (facepalm to the Lakers for passing on them 3 times).

MANNNN

I am so happy with how things turned out.

Love Mikal Bridges, think he is going to be an instant impact 3&D low maintenance player that will fit in seamlessly next to Devin Booker & Josh Jackson on the wing. Him and JJ are HOUNDS defensively. Ayton down low with those three on the perimeter creating havoc & Chriss, Bender, Warren, etc., we've got something brewing.

Okobo could be something, I had him going late first so getting him at 31 was nice. Think PHX killed it. Sucks giving up the Miami pick, but you gotta turn assets into pieces that can help you win sometime, who knows what that pick looks like in 2021. Still have all their own future picks plus the Milwaukee pick coming in so I'm OK with it.

We also have 15-20 mil to work with cap wise, could be more if they move a contract or two... things getting interesting.

I don't think anybody in the draft is bust free, even Luka. I think his floor is solid and bust rate is very low, but it's still possible. I obviously wanted and would have gone with Luka too because he seemed like the safer pick. The Kings have 3 very talented guards so I get that getting a big man who can really score is important(neither Skal nor WCS have proven they can and Giles is still unknown), but they also need a SF which is not gonna be Bagley even if Vlade tries to say he can play the 3. If they get a GOOD and YOUNG SF in free agency or via trade that can fill that spot for years to come the situation won't be as bad but there needs to be some changes to the roster between now and the start of the season.

Damn.

HOw is Porter still
2021 MIA unprotected.
Very Hinkie-like stealth trade.
I’m undecided on this.

That is kind of insanse.

There is a decent chance Miami will be a bad team in 2021.

Really not worth that risk for Miami to move up and get Bridges who will be a good player, but nothing special.

Phoenix, sorry.

I agree @Arizona_Sting that Phoenix had a great night overall, but I really kind of hate the Bridges trade from both sides.

It sucks that Phoenix gave up an unprotected first to basically move up 6 spots. WTF? Adding in 31 and a 2nd should have been plenty.

As for Philly, Bridges was their home town guy and his mom works For the team. Don't tease the family like that. Damn that is tough. Bridges would have fit very well in Philly.

Here are my thoughts:

Winners:

-Phoenix: nice haul of assets even though they paid too much for Bridges
-Dallas: getting Doncic was a great move
-Denver: getting MPJ well worth the risk even if he sits out a year or two. He could be the Embiid of this draft.
-Spurs: may have just drafted their Kawhi replacement

Losers:

-Atlanta: they better pray Trae Young is the second coming of Curry. If he is, they look like geniuses. If not, they will be ridiculed for a long time.
-Kings: passing on Doncic for Bagley was a mistake, IMO. Bagley will be a double double guy, by I don't think he will have nearly the impact of Doncic.
Wizards: typical Wizard draft. I am not sure they got any better at all.
Lakers: didn't like their draft. Adding shooters to potentially pair with LBJ or Lonzo is nice, but they needed to add some athelticism too and they didn't.

I love this kid already. Seems his work ethic is through the roof and seems a perfect fit. And also...

Beautiful seeing these guys' dreams come true.

@logic Pistons had a hell of a 2nd round.
Nice night getting two potential first round talents having only a mid second round pick. Two solid backcourt guys that can play D should make everyone hate to play and watch the Pistons again #scoresinthe80s

For having one pick (a late 1st rounder at that), the Boston Celtics did about as well as could be hoped.

The C's have been trying to find a big man to groom for quite some time... (no)names include Ante Zizic, Jordan Mickey, and Fab Melo... we may have finally gotten our guy.

With Horford aging, this is a nice pick. Love that he is a @The Q guy too. ;)

Apparently, there are character concerns with Robert Williams? Not sure what that is about... but Boston is probably the best place for him... put him around high quality youngsters in Tatum and Brown... veteran leadership is strong... and Stevens is the coach. If any organization can help smooth that out, it's the C's.

Motor is questioned. And his knee on medicals I guess.

Still with the risk.

I wonder how much of it was frustration over being poorly used by A&M.
