Jason Bahr promoted to San Jose

Had 88 K's in 68.2 innings, 52 hits. Low-mid 90s fastball with sink and a good curveball
Bahr looks to be a pretty good lottery ticket. He could be a top 10 Giants prospect this coming year.

I assume Valdez will be the roster casualty once Sam Wolff is ready to be activated.

Valdez 5 runs in 1/3 of an inning.

Beede is a train wreck, but all his runs were unearned tonight. How can he be a top ten prospect in our system? He was either way overrated our minor league pitching coaches have screwed him up.

He's just completely lost command. He had command in previous years, but for whatever reason he lost it this year

Are there examples of Pitchers going through this and then returning to form? My guess is few and far between.

Rick Ankiel always comes to mind.... of course he came back as a hitter and only had one good year.

Kyle Crick went through this and has come back as a good reliever.

Dellin Betances is a prime example as well. Betances and Beede actually have eerily similar seasons (Betances' 2012, Beede's 2018). The Yankees converted Betances to a reliever the next year, and has gone on to become an overwhelmingly dominant reliever.

Beede doesn't have nearly the same stuff as Betances, but the idea is that he can figure it out if he just simplifies everything.

Of course for every Betances and Crick, there are hundreds of forgotten flame-outs

Black pitched in B2B games for the second time this season yesterday, but unlike his previous attempt, this time he was successful. Not only was he in B2B games, it was his third appearance in 4 days.

In those 3 games, he has 3 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 R.

Black is coming folks. It is just a matter of when at this point. Maybe Johnson’s reign as the top bully reserve is nearly done?

Or the combination of Giants' pitchers Black and Blue (Vida).
Ignoring the names, but sticking with historical oddities, how about Timmeh and Buster. The first ever MLB Silver Spikes battery.
