Continuing toward what I expect to be a satisfactory conclusion. A needed death took place. That is all.

Toby Schmitz (Jack Rackham) sold the cold last night. Made me feel colder.

Pretty much in agreement with you.

Flint going off into happy matrimony pretty much ended it for me

They even seemed like they knew it sucked with the explanation of it "really" being true

Only good thing about the ending was Jack and Anne. The rest... not.

Heh. How should it have ended?

I thought they did a nice job of tying up the threads of the different power structures, while not changing history.

Didn't twig my bs meter one iota. Again, what ending were they going to have? Any ending where the pirates win and establish their freedomland goes against history. If Rogers wins they kill all the pirates? Again, doesn't fit history.

Piracy just sort of peters out.

Some people in the show got what they wanted, some lost and ended up kinda winning (Flint), some 'won' and ended up losing (Silver), some washed up on shore (Billy), some adapted (Rakham and Anne).

I get from a 'it should end in some awesome battle!' kinda way it may have been unsatisfying, but that event didn't really exist.

So all in all, I thought they tied it up pretty well.

Now if you want a deus ex machina crap ending, watch the way they finished off 'Grimm.'

What part of that was BS?

They set him up as bi in season 1. They laid the foundation for the 'home for wayward bo... er men, earlier this season. It's not like it came out of left field.

I have no idea if places like that DID exist in the new world. The concept has been around forever though. 'Get thee to a nunnery,' forinstance, was what they did when rich girls got preggers.

I know you want to have your internet argument.......:D........but it sounded like BS. I mentioned him in another thread about what he did for the man he loved but Silver sending men to find out if true and from there on sounded real made up.

You brought up the topic, and asked for people's opinions. Besides, with the two of us, it's not much of an argument...

ok, that was a bit unecessary chf. :)

Nah, I got ya.

Didn't sound like BS to me at all though. Remember he sent him a LOT earlier, so he could have been playing it both ways. If he and Flint had had a falling out (earlier in the episode they were literally hacking at each other with swords), then he could have played that card in the opposite way. (give in or I'll have him killed).

None of these guys was a choirboy. They robbed and killed and burned shit for a living.

But the two DID become friends of a sort, so in the end he was able to use the secret to get Flint to give up his war.

But if you think about it, there are more than a few examples in the show of men sacrificing for the women they love and vice versa - so why is Flint doing that for whathisname unbelievable?

We didn't question it when Eleanor Guthrie gave up the treasure for the Governor. We didn't question it that he went all nutbar in grief when she died. Heck no-one said boo when Max gave up the Boston deal over Anne.

But two guys in love--- oh noes!!!!

At any rate, I just disagree that it was poor ending. I can see your point that you'd have liked that part to be different. But overall I thought they did a nice job in wrapping it all up. Not all the protagonists got what they wanted. Not all the antagonists got their just desserts. Again, didn't try to change the history in any significant way.

7.5/10

:)

I don't have a problem with the two guys being in love. Just the way his ending was tidied up(secret plantation). It did not make me not like other elements of the show.

I tried watching it a couple years back. I only got 4 or 5 eps in. I couldn’t stand the cast. They all looked like pr0n stars, but they didn’t get as naked and couldn't act as well.

It's rated decently on IMDB and won a few Emmys. I'm going to finish out the season at the bare minimum before I let it go. There isn't anything else worth watching anyways.

I watched the whole series and liked it. The seasons 2 and 3 finales were awesome.
