How about Simmonds Frost and the 19th pick for Panarin. Would you do it?

Mmm. That's a well put together deal haha. Makes me think for sure.

I would be much more comfortable signing Panarin to a big extension than Simmonds. One, he's a couple years younger. Two, his game can age a little more gracefully IMO.

With Panarin, the Flyers have a dynamite top 6. Giroux-Couturier-Konecny, Panarin-Patrick-Voracek, I'd take that top 6 against any team in the NHL I think. Only concern I would have is Frost is really your only hope at a homegrown 3C for the future.

I think I will say, it depends on what the Flyers can do at 14. If they can get Kotkaniemi (highly unlikely), Hayton (unlikely), or Veleno (may be possible), then I would do that trade I think.

More I think about it, the more I like it. Just concerned about re-signing him. If you're confident you can re-sign him, I'm all for it.

Wonder what CBJ would think of that deal. Get Simmonds to replace some of Panarin's production for this season and you get Frost and a 1st instead of the risk of Panarin leaving. Plus you have the option/chance of signing Simmonds obviously.

I have to assume Hexy wouldn't make a trade like that without a solid assurance that he would sign an extension.

It would be nice to have that top 6 you listed plus our home grown 3rd line center would be Rubstov.

Ah, I forget about Rubstov. He's not my favorite prospect haha. But he's mostly been playing W in juniors I believe. We'll get a much better idea of what they see in him this season, he'll be on the Phantoms.

Ended up + every year of his career so far, including 1st on the BJs last year and 2nd on the Hawks the year before. Obviously +/- is a flawed stat, but at the very least that would indicate his offense, even taking out PP production, overcomes any defensive liabilities.

I would trade for Panarin in a heart beat. Return obviously depends on how likely they think he is to sign with the Flyers, but even if it's a 1 year rental situation and the return matches that, I would do it.
I am on board to, and you are correct his numbers are def inflated due to PP but I have seen times where I've seen him just quit on defensive plays, although I think Jake does to sometimes, either way I'd be down for it providing it's not overly pricey.

Hexy famous for trading down the last few years. I hope he finally goes for it this year and trades up.
He needs to do something, if we are going to become true contenders we need to add a few pieces now and trim some fat. We need to make a big push this year and be in the finals next year, or this year if the right moves are made.

The only guy I see that could have beaten Giroux out is Mackinnon. No way Hall deserved it more than Giroux.
If they were going to give it to a winger this year i has to be Giroux. Gee had more points better plus/minus and took a lot of face offs and to boot Flyers had more points.
