Incredibles 2 (2018)

It picks up right where the last one left off and expands on what made the first movie so good. I wouldn't say it's better or worse than the first one, but certainly the same level. Great visuals, per usual, and nicely designed characters and devices. Not up there with Coco or Inside Out, a slight notch below, but nothing to complain about.

Been lazy in updating this thread. Movies I've seen in the last month or so:

Patton: 3.5/5 stars
Black Swan: 2/5 stars
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus: 3.5/5 stars
Upgrade: 4.5/5 stars
The Prestige: 4.5/5 stars

Terry Gilliam continues to impress me with every movie I've seen of his. He's like David Lynch, but actually entertaining and not a douche.

Upgrade was awesome, and a lot smarter than what you would expect. I don't care much for sci-fi bullshit violence, but the plot saved the movie. Also, how does Death Wish (2018) get nearly boycotted, but a movie like this skates on through fine and gets like an 86% on RT? Sounds like selective outrage to me.

Second time watching The Prestige. It's my favorite 4.5/5 star movie of all time; i.e., closest to 5/5 stars without attaining it.

Saw Incredibles 2.

Not as good as the first one but it's funnier and still a good movie.

The villain is bad and her motivation is really stupid. Superheroes are unpopular and illegal so she makes them popular again so she can make them legal again so that she can make them unpopular again and illegal forever.
B+

The Birds: 0.5/5 stars.

It doesn't have an interesting plot or explain the reasoning behind the one unique feature of the movie? Well, if it doesn't have an interesting plot or explain the reasoning behind the one unique feature of the movie, it better have some convincing overarching thematic content in its place. What, it doesn't have that either? Well, fuck you too Hitchcock.

Saw Tag this weekend. It was funny, didn't take itself too seriously and wasn't too long. Helms and Fisher were great together.

I also liked the fact that the movie was only an hour and a half long. These days, it seems like Hollywood can't make a movie unless it's more than 2 hours long.

Directors: Please explain your movies, or suffer the wrath of Omar. Thank you.

After discussing ether and "bat country" randomly one day, I realized my buddy had never seen Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas... so we watched it. Pretty damn good movie that does come reasonably close to the novel. Depp and Del Toro were tremendous.

Dead Man

Jim Jarmusch effort, Johnny Depp and everybody.

Neil Young sound track.

Offbeat....
sound track was one of the only things that made it bearable. had one of my favorite lines, though.

Someone mentioned this recently but I can't recall what thread, and I don't know how I missed this movie 'til now...

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil.... Fucking great show. Hilarious. I love that heavy-set fella, he was by far my favorite part of Zac and Miri make a p0rn0.

Tyler Labine, and he is hilarious. His show on Hulu "Deadbeat" makes me laugh.

Harry Brown 4/5

I really liked it. It showed me to never kill a random old dude, because you never know when he is the last thing keeping former military badass from going full street justice.
