Very disappointed in Germany but not unexpected based on their recent friendlies. They looked awfully slow. Boateng yikes! Khedira and Kroos one tackle combined. And on offense, a lot of passes maybe were not on target and too deep where the Mexican goalie had easy plays. The midfield combined no creativity and then everything ends in Kimmich cross and Mexican header to clear. Never got Werner into the game even when he made runs and what was the deal with all the long shots that had no chance. Tactically no plan B. Wonder what Sane would have done today? Should not have started Draxler. Brandt would have been better....or Sane. Draxler should have stayed home. I think there will be lineup changes next game. Maybe Goretzka for Khedira, Reus needs to start over Draxler/Brandt. Maybe Sule for Boateng. Plattenhardt invisible so hopefully Hector returns. Werner looked like he may have gotten hurt too. If that is true, only Gomez as a striker. I would have preferred Wagner.

Here is the nightmare scenario: Germany finishes second in their group, Brazil first in theirs. Germany vs Brazil in Round of 16. One of the big powers gone before the semis. Right now it might be best for Brazil to finish second too.

Interesting results today, Germany losing and Brazil tying. Argentina tied Iceland yesterday, looks like this World Cup is wide open.

So far Spain has looked the best to me. If Portugal didn't have Ronaldo, it might have been 3-0. Brazil looked great for 20 minutes and then became average. No one is a lock for sure, but I still like the Germans to win. Looking forward to seeing Belgium play. Last really good team that hasn't played yet.

Or maybe this happens instead.

Mexico finishes 1st and still get Brazil in the round of 16. That would be awful.

The round of 16 in these groups should be good. Switzerland looked solid
