Fire Tools is another app that easily sideloads to Firesticks. Might even be able to load to Chromecast too.

Problem with Terrarium was finding a version without so many ads.. the one included with the CetusPlay app center works good.

I cant tell you about live tv...

But you NEED terrarium tv

in your fire stick settings, you have to allow for third party apps

to get it is simple first download the downloader app

in the downloader app- go to this URL HTTP://SportsHoopla.com/firetv3

and install Aptoid

then from aptoid, you can download Terrariumtv

it will change your tv life, and make you as big of a loser as I am...
What is terrarium tv?

Thats cool. I use Blokada and get no ads. If the Cetusplay one is adless even better.

how do you do that? Mine still has some dopey ads. Some of the dl's of terrarium have so many ads it is impossible to get past the opening screen

Just download Blokada. I have it on my phone and just sideloaded it using the Firetools app. Make sure the online button and the main button are orange so that you know it is working. Sometimes it does not fire up automatically so you have to turn it on again.

Firetools is in the google play store. Blokada you might want to get off the web.

Terrarium is a free 3rd party app for firestick and other smart devices... Not sure if you can get it on Roku...

it goes through android apps...

you can basically watch any movie, any tv show you want... as long as there is a good download for it...

its similar to bit torrents, but it is all streaming...

So I bought a $40 firestick at target and realized it doesn’t come with anything. In fact I do t even have a Amazon account.
1) Do I need to get amazon prime or just sign up for a amazon account
2) What apps you suggest I get to watch movies?
3) Any suggestions

Thanks Milk, hope you are doing well.

i am sure there is a way to bypass everything... dont really know as everyone i helped had an amazon account... but i am sure you have to create an account to go any further... pretty sure you can do it on the stick, but if you cant just go to amazon.com...

just wondering, how do you order things on-line?? or have you never done that before??

you dont need amazon prime, but it sure makes the stick better...

and as for the movies... i would go back to the advice earlier about terrarium and how to download it...

I’d buy things only on eBay.

even if you got a roku or an apple tv, you need to create an account... so nothing changes here... you just need to go to amazon.com and create one... you should also think about getting amazon prime... prime, besides the tv/movies saves you money on shipping on anything ordered online and you also may find cheaper things too...

With Amazon Prime $100 a year and Netflix $10-15 a month and the baseball package $119 a year we do pretty good with the Firesticks. Prime has their own TV show lineup with some good shows like Bosch and older shows to rewatch like The Sopranos. Then Netflix is basicly their own TV channel.

Part of cutting the cord has meant outfitting a couple of the TVs with a stick to get the apps.

I spent 15 mins with a sales person at Micro PC Center the other day...he said get the 4k stick whether you intend on watching 4k or not...the small increase in price buys you a faster processor and more stable wifi connection.

I've only had it connected one day, but the early call is a thumbs up.

From opening the box to watching TV took about 15 mins....***note***you will need a CC # on file to set up your Roku Account.

Once synced with my Samsung 1080p set in the kitchen, the Roku remote turns the TV off and on and controls volume...a nice touch that not all streaming stick remotes share.

For now, I'm going with the paid stream bundle that YouTube TV offers. Being fairly new it wasn't on the preinstalled app list....finding and adding it was quick and easy. Maneuvering around takes some getting used to but the speed of searching, finding and loading apps is excellent for a stick.

As others have mentioned...it's neutral in terms of accessing apps and yo can customize it.

Roku Streaming Stick +

Pros
  • reasonably priced for what you get, lots of free content
  • dual core processor makes for fast searching, loading apps, big improvement over the regular Streaming Stick
  • easy setup
Cons
  • must have side mounted HDMI port on TV for easy wall mounting

Glad to see you are off and running.

I would add another Con is that it is very difficult to load any android apps. Most apps are android based. Roku is Linux based (although technically Android is a Linux offspring too).

Im not sure but you can probably side load whatever you want onto a Fire stick with no Amazon account. I have the Amazon account because I hate going to the store for anything, anymore.

You can sideload any app on to a firestick AFAIK (although not all work seemlessly). You need an account to set up the firestick though. Not sure there is any way around that although you do not need a credit card on file to do it.

Prime is going up $19 ($100 to $119 for me) which I'm not real happy about, but if you use it, you definitely get the majority of it back if not all on shipping costs...plus I was able to share it with my wife.

I have not. Terrarium will probably still work since you use it with a vpn anyway which can be from anywhere in the world. I am not sure about the stick though. Also Hotels lock the the input on TVs in a lot of places (although you can get around that too.

Guess I should give them a whirl, although I think at the end they develop the same problems that Kodi has.
