2018 Atlanta Hawks Draft Chat

I have seen people project us getting Jaren Jackson Jr. out of Michigan State. I would love to Michael Porter Jr., and of course getting Collin Sexton would just be cool.

Any players out there that you think would be slam dunks?!?

I think Jaren Jackson Jr. might be the safest pick.

Just pontificating, if I had my druthers but somewhat realisticaly, My ideal Hawks scenario as GM:


I'd use my 30M in cap space this offseason to sign Aaron Gordon (RFA) and Mario Hezonja.

I'd draft JJJr and start an identity as a smaller-ball team that's predicated on speed, athleticism, D, and getting to the basket. I think JJJr's length + athleticism will play well at C defensively. He can play away from the basket and make room for Gordon, DS, and Hezonja cutting to the basket.

I'd package Collins in a trade to get KB or Plumlee off the books and go after a bigger fish in 2019.
