Just not talented enough

Some will take this as me being critical or hating given the route I am going with on my answer - but here it is --

you are correct - Ira Winderman mentioned this same exact thing on twitter.

Some people think that Wade and Hassan alone make the Heat " the most talented" or just talented -- over Philly - thats just not the case.

Again, who ever wants to take it as hating can do just that - but fact of the matter is this isn't Wade in his 20s - this is Wade on the wrong end of his 30s - very little about him right now makes this team "talented"

On Hassan, he continues to fail to live up to what he can be - certainly the talent is there - but what seems to be there the most for him is a switch and when he wants to turn it on or off -- and he keeps it off a little too much.

Also, Hassan plus 6 in this one. Wish our coach would have stopped that 14-0 run.

Looks like the troll was busy trying to make up stats to fuel his usual baseless narrative.

Funny how just about everyone who has commented on this game has pointed to the several reasons why the Heat lost -- none of which mentioned the coach/coaching as a factor or even close to it

Oh she mad again! Loves to criticize our greats and players and call them names but if someone actually throws out real figures or data to support their points then they “make things up”. I did not make up how this less talented team played the Sixers even or plus in forst half. Coaches make adjustments at halftime that had the team -30? Did the players go 1-4 in playoff series minus the Big 3? Was Hassan not plus 6 in a critical game 4 loss and does coach not substitute or call timeouts during runs? It’s a team game and this team did not make their free throws, an issue they had all year. How ever, not holding the staff accountable is a big mistake. Without Wade, we lose in 4 and not even a close series. Enjoyed Wade being Wade one last time. This man did win playoff series and a championship without the Big 3.

The Heat have not had a talented team since the Big 3 left. You don't win series in the playoffs without having talent. I'm not a fan of Spo as you know but I can't blame him for his playoffs series record since the big 3 left because the roster has not been talented. We did push Toronto to 7 games in the 2nd round in 2016 and Whiteside missed almost all of that series.

At the end of day, you're not going to win a series with no star players unless you're playing a team just like yourself which is exactly why I was praying for Miami to play Indiana or Boston without Irving because those 2 teams are just like us right now. Lots of good players but no star talent.

Playing Philly was just as bad as going up against Toronto or Cleveland in round 1....Not only are they much more talented than us but they also have more shooters. They legit have 3-4 deadly 3 point specialist. We only have 1 even though a lot of our other guys are playing.

Point it, the front office need to do something to help the coaching staff out if they want to make deep runs to the playoffs and that something is to acquire a superstar this summer or next.

E-Reid mentioned the absence of Dion Waiters yesterday when the Heat went into a drought and needing someone to go for some points consistently.

I am not saying Dion is the star you mention the Heat lack or even a consistent go-to score - but he is certainly capable of being a viable option when needed.

Is he missed more than a few folks initially thought he would be? I would say so despite his inconsistency often.

As you mentioned, the front office needs to do their part in helping the coaching staff - but as I said after our season ended after 82 games last season, I don't think they need to completely blow it up - they just need to retool and tweak some things.

Said it somewhere else yesterday but games 3 and 4 were the first time I missed Waiters this year. Needed someone that could go ISO and get buckets in the 4th quarter of the last 2 games

Hmm.. more evidence of Hassan quoting on a play / taking a play off in a critical game .

But people want to blame the coach for “alienating him “ I think that’s hard to do to a guy that quits before it even starts

Only series not 2-2 in East is Heat versus 76ers. Guess talent disparity is razor thin in those other series. Also, you alienate someone over time. Not saying it was right for Hassan to be mentally weak but I guess all those games where he did not play on he 4 th quarter got to his head. Glad it was worth it to make it a close game and not win versus Kings and Nets. Let’s see if the players can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

It would only "blow" to our defense.

I think McGruder would be better served off the bench - start Winslow - I know some idiot in here will want to point to his lack of scoring as a reason not to start him - but he does so much more the idiot doesn't understand.Plus, there seems to be a fire under Winslow's ass the last couple games that the starting unit really needs - When Goran is off, we got nothing in the starting lineup...

The greatness of Spo -- if only he had the players that were willing and capable of stepping up again in such a moment.

Will Wade have another"naw, I ain't going down like that" moment tonight? Or will he go down just like that in what could be his final game in a heat uniform/his career?

Most NBA talking heads had the Heat losing in 5 or 7 games - few others had them winning in 7. Let see what happens.

Hassan and Ellington have been awful thus far. Thank goodness for Johnson and Wade and Winslow in first quarter. -2 after 1 but there are till 3 quarters left including the dreaded halftime adjustments.
