Inflammation of the ERA qualifies as an excuse for a DL stint, right...?
Tilly is hard to watch . i had high hopes for him but some of our aaa or aa pitchers at lest they would be learning

[Checks the box score]

At this rate, this team might as well carry zero starters on the 25-man roster and play every single game with a relay team:
  • Starters: 70.0 IP (as of yesterday), 5.01 ERA, 4.89 FIP, 1.51 WHIP
  • Relievers: 61.0 IP, 4.13 ERA, 4.32 FIP, 1.41 WHIP

Also... why is Davis still in the lineup? (As I have said before: You can lose only money, or both money and games. The fact that Davis' contract is starting to look as bad as that of Flacco for the Ravens is not going away... but the damage can at least be minimized by playing someone else.)

Bundy is the only bright spot in that rotation. Too bad he won't win much with the way this team is currently playing. :yell:

Not Bundy's best performance but still was enough to keep them in the game. Definitely deserves better than the support that he's gotten from the offense. And at this point, it would almost be worth it to buy out both Davis and Tillman's contracts with the way they've both played thus far.
I haven't watched much this year but I haven't really seen a lot that I have liked. Really wish we had started a rebuild at the end of July last year.

1. Right now, Bundy is this team's ace, Cashner is the #2 starter, and the rest of the rotation is below replacement level.

2. To be fair, both Davis and Tillman have been extremely unlucky this season so far from the standpoint of BABIP (0.182 vs. a career average of 0.311 for Davis, and 0.408 vs. a career average of 0.285 for Tillman). Then again, you would see several warning signs if you look into their stats more closely:

3. Conclusion: The Orioles might as well call up someone from the minors ASAP, because there's nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying something different at this point.

No doubt Bundy is the ace, I don't believe anyone should dispute that. I think that Cobb should've gotten one more start in the minors before being brought up because it sounds like he wasn't ready at all yesterday, so he's still a TBD for me. But Tillman and Gausman have a lot of work to do before they get back to being the talent we've seen before.
I wish that Davis would just take what was given to him and just constantly hit balls down towards the left side of the field since teams always do the shift on him. I'll take singles any day over numerous strike outs every game.

Another day, another loss. Gausman actually pitched well and the offense scored 5 runs. This time, O'Day was the big contributor to blowing the game.

The BP strikes again. Currently, O's are one of the worst teams in baseball.

Is it too early to be anticipating what happens during the trade deadline or the offseason already? :noidea:

Currently, O's have the 3rd worst winning percentage in MLB. Only the Royals and Reds are worse.

If the losing doesn't stop, soon ... there should be a major shake up coming.

Buck is on the hot seat, in my opinion -- and I wouldn't be surprised if Angelos sells the team due to being on the short list of owners competing to be the worst team in the Majors. :lm: :mad2: :L

At some point, you have to wonder if it would make sense to apply the baseball equivalent of the "Suck for Luck" strategy (i.e. just tank the season intentionally and go for the #1 pick).

Granted, it doesn't work quite as well in the MLB since prospects take longer to develop, and the net impact of one good player is smaller than in the NFL-- which means that practically speaking, you'd need to tank not one season, but rather 3-4 or so. But it did work for the Cubs and Astros...

Except the difference is is that they both have competent front offices. Ours is a complete mess and who knows what it'll look like at the end of the season.

Wright is trash and they keep giving him chances. We must have someone in AAA who can pitch better than him.

There is a reason Tampa gave up Beckham for nothing.

O'Day is way past his prime. Good thing his contract is up soon. Brach hurting his stock, maybe we can resign him for cheap. Use him as a 7/8th guy.

Buck and Dan have to be on the hot seat. Both contracts are up at the end of the year. Cobb hasn't looked good and if he doesn't turn it around its another bad starting pitcher signing for Dan.

Any chance we can just start doing a rebuild now? This team either can't hit when they get good pitching or let up a huge amount of runs when the offense does actually show up. I think that the Buck and Dumpster Dan era needs to be a thing of the past.
