Groy is probably shooting for LG. Bodine coming over with A.J. makes sense for snap comfort. He's probably not that good blocking wise, but it's not like that would be an outlier. I'm hoping our three picks in 50's and 60's gobble up three linemen. And emphasis on "at worst" for RT...if Newhouse can't win that job, then he was our worst signing...because Mills can't see the field if we expect a pocket passing QB.

Not a problem with your boy Lamar though, right? :heh:

I think the Bills will look at 2 OL of those 3 picks at most (kinda my intent in my current mock). I think Groy will beat out Bodine this summer (Bodine really wasn't very good last year). Bills need continued work on the o-line, but this draft may not be the best opportunity to heavily invest. Bills also need a starting WR (either slot, or put Zay in the slot), RB of the future, CB (nickel, possible outside if Davis leaves after this season), potential SAM replacement behind Lorenzo, etc.

It's troubling when you're looking at comps for some of these prospects and you actually see Jordan Mills as a comp for a potential day 2 selection. Yikes.

RB of the future? RB do not have to be groomed. We don't need to touch RB this year. McCoy, Ivory, Cadet are fine.

RB do have to be groomed in many cases. Most have to learn pass protection to get solid reps (at least to avoid being part of a committee).

Ouch the schedule is rough

1-3 is our best case scenario to start out

Some idiot on ESPN picked the Bills to finish with the worst record in the league.

AFC East is the worst division. So "tough schedule" doesn't mean much to me. AFC South and NFC North isn't any worse than two different divisions.

I had us at 5-11 last year. One game at a time.

Got to hand it to the Bills. They were able to trade up for their QB at a lower cost, which allowed them to also trade up for Edmunds. Don't have another pick until the late 3rd now, but added a 5th. Will have to bolster the WR corps and offensive line a little later.

Would Allen have been my choice for QB? I probably would have gone with Rosen over him, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now (they have researched these kids much more than I have, lol).

As soon as I heard "Ravens have traded the pick" in the background, my first thought was "the Bills should trade up!" Didn't think they actually would, but lo and behold, they get Edmunds. What an aggressive move for a real stud LB.

You have to wonder if they would have given Denver both #1 picks. But they were saved by Cleveland passing on Chubb.

I prefer Allen over Rosen

One better attitude...two Rosen's not going to make it in the NFL because he's way too injury prone. It's rather ironic he's on the Cardinals with Sam Bradford who's career was ruined in the same fashion that Rosen's likely will be.

Love the Edmunds pick, only giving up a 3rd rounder is excellent to acquire a linebacker who was in contention to be a top 10 pick. We need to address the line with our next pick, receiver I wouldn't be surprised if we found one in round 5 that's better than one of the one's taken in the first round. This receiver class is deep but none are a sure thing

I would have made the same deal with Bucs, taken Roquan, kept 22, grab Hernandez and still have 65 where Rudolph might fall if he gets by Pitt.

That said, I trust the new regime.

I'm glad we didn't take Rudolph, nothing but a system QB

all he does is throw deep passes and if that's not available he either takes a sack or throws a pick. He's like RG3 except he can't run

That's the worst thing about him, no mobility. Otherwise, he might have been rated closer to the top 5 QBs.

Love Hernandez, but think they got incredible value with Teller on day 3. I thought he would go much earlier.

That was my favorite pick beyond the first day

honestly a lot of the other picks were a little underwhelming. Both the receivers we took will help in the return game, I'm not sure how much else. Ray-Ray was a disappointment when Equanimeous St Brown was still on the board, he was actually a receiver in this class that I thought had some good #2 receiver potential...missed opportunity there

Maybe I'm biased but if we didn't take him I would have liked Wilson

The Bills are spending some time with a possible addition to their backfield and special teams units on Tuesday.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that running back Kenjon Barner is visiting with the team.

Signing in Buffalo would reunite Barner with former Eagles teammate LeSean McCoy as they played together during the 2014 season in Philadelphia. Barner spent the next two seasons with the Eagles as well and then returned to Philadelphia last September after a brief spell with the Chargers.

Barner ran 16 times for 57 yards and a touchdown and caught five passes for 56 yards during the 2017 regular season. Barner also returned 10 kickoffs and 27 punts for the Eagles last year.

Buffalo had Brandon Tate handle their return duties last year, but he became a free agent in March and has not re-signed with the team.

Barner would be a good replacement for Tate as well as a good complement to Shady McCoy in the run game.

I think Jamaal Charles would be a nice RB addition. Replace Cadet and roll with the vet duo.

Yeah him paired alongside McCoy would be a nightmare for opposing defenses. Who do you gameplan for?

I wouldn't say nightmare, but a useful addition for sure.

Both RBs IMO would be tough for opposing teams to prepare for because Charles and McCoy are very elusive backs in the open field. When they run straight ahead is when their YPC isn't that good. Outside the numbers is where they are most dangerous.
