They lost the #2 pick in the draft by beating Houston. Dammit.
So with the #3 pick, I'm afraid they'll pick DE Chubb. I just don't see him being great in the NFL.
I'm hoping they trade down a couple spots and take Nelson from Notre Dame. They are saying he is as sure a thing as there is in this draft. I know a guard isn't a flashy pick, but it would be nice to sure up the offensive line.

I think it's more then likely we will move down if it's still a top 10 pick .

Dick move by McDaniels. Bummer is for the assistants he had hired.

The Colts know whenever Andrew Luck takes the field again, he needs to be better protected.

So they continue to add lineman.

According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Colts have signed veteran tackle Austin Howard.

The 31-year-old Howard was most recently with the Ravens, but has been with the Raiders, Jets, and Eagles. He has started at least 10 games in each of the last six seasons.

The Colts used the sixth pick in the draft on Notre Dame guard Quenton Nelson, and a second-rounder on Auburn guard Braden Smith.

The Colts have added another player to their wide receiver competition.

The team announced on Friday that they have signed former Seahawks and Browns wideout Kasen Williams. Wide receiver DeAndre Smelter was waived in a corresponding move.

Williams, who went undrafted out of the University of Washington, played three games for Seattle in 2015 and 2016 before moving on to make seven appearances with the Browns last year. He caught nine passes for 84 yards in those outings and had one catch during his time with the Seahawks.

Smelter was a 2015 fourth-round pick of the 49ers and caught one pass for 23 yards in his two regular season appearances with the team.

Wel they are looking at 2 safties ! i have no clue why we have 3 good ones makes me wonder if green is seen as a cb under the new coaches . howard is good but with all the line changes when someone goes down on the line it want be a huge drop off . if good and mewhort could stay on the field they would be awesome . bond was doing a hell've job when kelly was out until he got hurt . vs texans good was owning the line until he went down .the best will be the starters on this team .l

The question with Andrew Luck is and always will be his health. If he plays and gets injured again this year, his career as an NFL QB is over.

Chuck Pagano was fired after his sixth and final season as head coach of the Colts, a season in which he went 4-12 with quarterback Andrew Luck injured all year. Pagano sees a strong correlation between the presence of Luck and his own coaching success.

Pagano said he believes last year’s lost season was just a bump in the road for Luck, whom Pagano believes will show himself to be an elite franchise quarterback — and whom Pagano believes has already shown himself to be responsible for Pagano’s own success.

“I expect Andrew to be the old Andrew, to come back and play great football this season and beyond,” Pagano told the Indianapolis Star. “Obviously he’s got a lot of work to do. He’s got to get back on the grass, he’s got to start throwing the football. He’s in a great place. I love Andrew Luck. He got me more years than I probably deserved. He’s a phenom.”

Pagano has no doubt that Luck will do everything in his power to recover from last year’s shoulder injury.

“Him not being able to play killed him. When you can’t be there for your teammates and you’re recovering and rehabbing, it kills you. Last year, it killed him,” he said. “The great competitors want to be out there. This cat, he’s dying to get back on the football field.”

Unfortunately for Pagano, that great competitor will get back on the football field for a new head coach.

Oh really now?

pagona was as bad of a coach as grigson was gm . i'm excited with both the coach and gm . we still have 52 m cap room so when good young players are cut due to money we will have room . i would prefer luck but jacoby was put in a terrible spot last year and is a fine back up . some have said our o line could be very good this year . it's going to be move around and get the best match ups for the passing game . our lt has been good in the past but finally having a top notch guard for help will only make him better . kelly at center thats 3 decent ones . the line last year was so injured .we signed 2 vets for rg and rt but i bet those will be more of depth moves . smith , mewhort (when healthy is very good ) haeg who is nasty and can play all including center . colts went with 5 different centers last year . for rt i love a healthy good but clarke has shown flashes but not consistancy is an issue . i bet the best 5 will start so all is good .

Chris Ballard and Frank Reich are just what they need right now.

100 percent . a purge i hated seeing anderson and hankin go on the D but they are not fast . they got young fast guys that have been flying under the radar for other teams . they will coach the yopungsters up and maybe we could be the falcons of a few years where they took a young team to the sb .

You guys will be just fine. Better coaching staff now under Frank Reich to get the very best out of the players in Indy than there was with Pagano at the helm.

reich not going for the tie vs houston is the only thing I blame him for so far . that o line is looking good with nelson and smith both doing well shocked that smith is rt . so o/line has 3 no 1 and a no 2 pick on it . with playing in the afc south we are still in it . that line could end up being the best for years to come . so after the Oakland game we will only have 3 road games and 5 home games . the line keeps running the ball less work on the D and the fresher and faster they will be . shocking thing is the offense has what cost us most of our 5 loses .

Nelson is proving to be the correct pick at #6. He's a stud already. Pass blocking and run blocking.
Last 2 games Luck hasn't been sacked. Rushed for over 120 yards in both games too. I wonder how far back we'd have to go to find the last time that happened on a Colts team.

have to be in manning days if then . they say doyle best run blocker te maybe be back this week . plus remember they had to keep doyle in a lot to cover for the sub linemen . I wonder if good slides in at guard as good as smith has been at rt ? mack may still get a 1000 yard year . autry needs to get back him and hunt are a great 1 2 punch on d line .
