i'm thinking Portland…home of the team from lore "The Portland RedBuds". who went on to become the Chicago BlackHawks.

seems reasonable for a market with only an NBA team in town.
was Portland Rosebuds, no?

Portland would make sense for a team, think they'd be a better market than Phoenix for sure.

The hits just keep on coming:

Could the Arizona Coyotes be moving to downtown Phoenix?

"Frankly I just don't know why that's necessary again at a time when we're talking about we don't have enough money for schools and we don't have enough money for police officers. We seem to have unlimited money for stadiums."

Gary Bettman could take a lesson from this guy who seems to understand that throwing money at a failure doesn't make it suddenly succeed.

A multi-purpose school, police station and arena/stadium? Throw in some a PF Changs and a kids petting zoo and it looks like a bold idea.

Skip the petting zoo. In Arizona there be scorpions.

Yeah, moving out of Phoenix seems like the Coyote's best move now. Seems like as long as they stay in Arizona there's always going to be trouble.

Now the Coyotes are looking for public money to fund a new arena - When will this madness end? You have a perfectly fine arena (in fact, it's beautiful), what you don't have is enough hockey fans.

A plan that would provide $225 million in public financing for a new $395 million Arizona Coyotes arena likely does not have the votes to pass the state Senate, key lawmakers told The Arizona Republic/azcentral Thursday.

Sens. Debbie Lesko, R-Peoria, and John Kavanagh, R-Fountain Hills, said they definitely were going to vote against the plan, while Minority Leader Katie Hobbs, D-Phoenix, said there is little support among the chamber's 13 Democrats. Meanwhile, Senate President Steve Yarbrough, R-Chandler, said he had "serious reservations" about the plan that would allow the National Hockey League team to build an arena in downtown Phoenix or the East Valley.

Hold on there a second bucko, Portland doesn't get a NHL team until the big brother city gets one, know your role.

hey tike…get an NBA team and get back to me then.

If Paul Allen had his way the Blazers would have moved to Seattle right after the Sonics were stolen...and no, we are trying to be a hockey town now.

The Seattle arena deal is redhot again after a bunch of corruption was uncovered at the Port of Seattle the past couple weeks and they've been thugging the Bolshevik moonbats on the Seattle City council into continuously trying to vote the arena deal down.

Seattle could be close to finishing the final hurdles on getting the Arena greenlighted. If so, NBA and NHL will be in play immediately. The design would accommodate both no problem.

start with a venue.. portland already has two of em.

Yeah, we don't have the arena does and Portland is hockey ready...but Portland has been hockey ready for a decade plus, not a coincidence that Portland finally gets a look when the NHL is trying to get in Seattle. Portland is a pawn, noone wants Portland. You only got a MLS team so we could have a rival after the Sounders broke ever attendance record in ghey little soccer. Tacoma>Portland.

C'mon guys. I think we can all agree that both Portland and Seattle should never get NHL teams.
