My first thought was: anyone who thinks the Oilers have a substantially better chance at the Cup next year then the Sabres or Leafs IS a degenerate

Right now, the Hawks and the Kings might be solid investments.

Off-season will change so much. I would focus on teams that have a good track record of strong off-season work and get them now, before the price goes down.

/not a reference to the Habs either

Interesting, still until you see who does what in the summer and the regular season predictions like this may be to early.

I'm curious about the odds regarding the Carolina Hurricanes remaining in Carolina to start the 2017 season.

What's really cool is once the Vegas team starts you'll be able to place bets at the game!

I'm not trying to peddle anybody. I actually think the Isles should keep him. However, the team might think they need the cap space. Dallas has a good team. I think 16 to 1 is good odds on them.

Just busting on you a little. I agree, Dallas was very close this year. If I thought they had any chance at solidifying their goaltending, I would sign on for them at 12 or 16 to 1. Would be a great investment.

If they do get a goalie, their odds will drop below 10. If they have a start to the regular season, they could easily be the favorite at Christmas. Now is the time to get on them, but only if you think they can get a goalie.

If they were to pick up, oh I dunno, MAF, they would be set.

Dallas might have to part with one of their top young guys in order to find a taker for one of their goalies though. I mean, if you want me to take Antti Niemi for instance, the only way you get me interested is if you throw in somebody like Faksa into the deal and basically the return will be something equivalent to Faksa.

They may have slightly overpaid for their goaltending tandem...
