I go Gilbert. Agree with CB Rob, I just like Gilbert better. Smitty I knew when I saw poll results you had Ebron. He would be great, just don't see drafting him with bigger needs on other side of ball.

Im not hell bent on him. But Id rather see the biggest (within reason) option we can get, along with very good speed than another undersized wideout. Don't want anyone to think Id be upset with a LB if either of the two are there. I wouldn't, even though Barr is there in this Mock Poll. Im not crazy about Gilbert or Dennard (not that they both arent talented or anything)as we already have a group of young guys trying to adjust to the highest level at corner. And I don't see either of the two being capable of bringing more to the secondary this year than Slay will. Id be more than pissed if Lewan is picked. Id fucking lose my mind.

Ha-Ha - I think that the CB's from previous drafts start to get coached up, and that the value will be an impact DB that can start this season. Clinton Dix seems to be NFL ready, provides value, and dare I say it, might just be the Best Player Available when the Lions get the chance to go to the podium.

NOTE - I haven't gotten a first round Lions pick right since probably Stafford. On the other hand, even a blind squirrel can find a nut every now and again.

I am sticking with LB. That will not be a surprise to anyone. Barr fits the best, but Mack is close.


After that I would say CB and WR. If it is not one of those 3 then I will be very disappointed.

I'd prefer Clinton-Dix. JMO, I think he's the best centerfielder type FS in this draft yet still provides an impact in run support and blitzes when talking about college production. The signing of SS Ihedigbo and having Quin slide over to FS probably negates a move to select Clinton-Dix.

I voted for DT Aaron Donald.
1) Best college DT this year and proved his mettle vs ACC foes (previously Big-East and under the radar), Blew up any/all OL at the Senior Bowl, Combine #'s and position workouts clarify what's on tape
2) Mayhew not picking up club option for Fairley (smart move, IMO)
3) Non-Stop motor, hard worker, extremely athletic, versatile
4) could see him possibly play DE in a 3-4 alignment (Suh, Fairley or Mosley, Donald. Ansah edge rusher ?

Imagine it has to be a back 7 player on defense. Either Gilbert, Barr or Ha Ha.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tabbed Evans at #10 if he is still there though. I'd have to start calling Mayhew, Mini-Millen again though after dropping Millions on Offense and pennies on Defense, then go spend our most valuable pick on yet another pass catcher in a super deep WR class.
