We run, run, and run some more. This time around their Front 7 will not be able to stay physical enough. The ball won't be in the air much on Saturday boys.

At least we have a supposedly easy game to determine the backbone and fortitude of this team. If I was on that offense I would be very ashamed of the way they played.

Does the offense become the offense they were supposed to be? Does Beck actually run plays that when they work, he keeps using them? Or will we just be throwing wide out screens and dinks to the sideline?

I am not putting much fault on the defense. The offense laid down and left the defense to fend for themselves. In Communism, when you see someone not doing anything and still getting the same benefits as you, then you quit doing anything.

Does Bo even do anything on the sideline or will he just stand there because he knows EVERY move he makes will be scrutinized? Does Barney Cotton do anything? Where was the assistant Head Coach last week. the guy who played at Nebraska and should know how to fire up people?

Something lost in all this BS is that the tOSU game where the fans "sucked so bad" was the loudest I've ever seent the stadium after Lavonte's strip..

"motherfucking fair weather fans" wouldn't have been able to make that stadium louder than any in the country that day.. shit most of the fans leaving probably just had to piss at halftime

SDSU is an FCS team. NU should dominate them up front on both sides of the ball, right?

Let's compare Wyoming to SDSU.

Wyoming is currently 2-1 with wins against 0-3 Idaho and 1-2 FCS Northern Colorado. Both of those teams held Wyoming to fewer yards than what Nebraska gave up. Wyoming is averaging over 500 yards per game of offense.

SDSU is 3-0. Plays in the same conference as North Dakota State, slayers of Kansas State, and Northern Iowa, slayers of Iowa State.

SDSU is a balanced offense that does not turn the ball over. Wyoming ran at will, scrambling QB, on the Nebraska D and threw at will against the Nebraska D. SDSU is not as explosive as Wyoming.

SDSU does not have an explosive offense and a pretty porous defense.

The real story will be watching the Nebraska players and the Nebraska coaches. The entire Nebraska sideline will be like a morgue. Everyone, players and coaches, afraid to make a mistake and say anything. If SDSU takes the lead, what will Nebraska do? Impersonate lawn chairs or the Incredible Hulk?

I expect a 30+ point victory for Nebraska. Big Deal. As Tomhusker points out, Trix are for kids.

Nebraska is only a 20.5 point favorite and the odds makers won't even put an Over/Under on it.

:wtf:

If Tommy A starts and NU rolls SDSU, do we have a QB controversy a la 1992 Tommie Frazier?

Face it, Nebraska has too many skill position weapons for the offense to sputter like it has. The problems are either the trigger man (Taylor) or the O-Line. I think Beck's getting too much blame due to Taylor's limitations mentally and also his physical limitations in being a 'complete' QB.

Tommy is a natural runner. Wouldn't that be a better fit for a zone read offense? If Taylor doesn't have a 6' running lane he's as worthlesweens as tits on a boar hog even when trying to get 2 yds. He's had some big runs, but they are few and far between in reality and weren't in traffic. I'd trade those rare big runs for 4 YPC any day. Taylor is easy to defend. Stack the box, take away 5-15 yds between the hash marks and make him beat you with his weaknesses. He doesn't have the aptitude, arm, or running style to do that.

Bo said he's done trying to put "a square peg into a round hole" (Taylor imo) and he was going to spend "less time on X's and O's and more time on fundamentals".

Was he only referring to defense?

I'm pretty sure that they won't let go of their perception of what loyalty is to their players. As much as we might disagree, I don't think Tommy will be the starter the rest of the year even if he looks like ole #15 during his games and we beat the snot out of whoever we play while he's in there.

Hope I'm wrong because I think what RA said is dead on about Tommy. I honestly don't know to what scope Bo was speaking when he talked about square pegs but I hope he was referring to the whole program and not just defense.

It would be refreshing, if it actually happens. Don't know why it's taken this long to come to that conclusion.

Oh well, eyes forward and such.
