Bills signed Washington T Trey Adams.
Adams (6'7/314) entered both his junior and senior seasons as one of the top tackles in the class, but injuries, inconsistent play and finally a horrible showing at the NFL Scouting Combine saw his stock plummet. The Bills will hope they can get the pre-injury version. If he can, he's obviously a steal for the Bills, and certainly worth a look as a UDFA.

Pretty crazy this dude went UDFA.
I saw many blurbs on him being a darkhorse 1st rounder the last couple off-seasons.

Wow me too. I have a draft mag from a couple years ago where they have him as a 1st rounder as a junior (obviously he didn’t come out early). Totally forgot about him on draft weekend.

Guess he should of came out his JR year

Why not draft this guy at the end of the draft? Imagine him working out as a swing tackle and taking over at RT or LT on a 7th round salary. Value would be sick.

BB_72: J. Okwara better clean up that tackling department of his. Clotheslining a player as if your Ted Hendricks (Oakland Raida's in the 70"s) doesn't work. Plus he isn't any good at it either.

Notes: PFF is in love with the Detroit Lions’ 2020 draft

So, It's PFF and they hate drafting RB in the 1st 3 rounds of any draft (they down ya for that. Not to mention they had D' Andre Swift at 74 overall ranking) Butttttttttttttt…. They loved the Lions draft and still gave it an A.

Okwara was listed as one of the steals of the draft @Old Lion . Tooooot Toooooot. Booyah.

_________________________________________________________________________________

They gave the Lions an overall grade of A, and even said they believe Julian Okwara was one of the biggest steals of the draft.

“Although he suffered a season-ending injury in Week 11 this past year, there’s no reason Okwara should have been available in the third round,” Anthony Treash wrote. “With his explosiveness off the line, overall athleticism and long arms, Okwara was a first-round talent in this draft.”

Notes: PFF is in love with the Detroit Lions’ 2020 draft

PFF isn’t a huge of drafting a running back as high as Detroit did. So when it came to listing the best and worst picks of each draft class, PFF’s Michael Renner had to list D’Andre Swift as the worst. But in his intro, he specifically said, “If your team drafted a running back in the first three rounds, the chances are it’s our least-favorite pick. To avoid sounding like a broken record, I won’t be including many of them among the least-favorite picks.”

So why did Renner stick with Swift for Detroit?

I said I wouldn’t include running backs, but that’s how much we loved the Lions’ other picks. This isn’t even an indictment of Swift, who was the top running back on PFF’s board. Lights out draft for Detroit.

Bob Quinn thought there was ‘no way’ Julian Okwara would fall to Lions

When the Detroit Lions made a somewhat surprising move, taking running back D’Andre Swift with their second-round pick, general manager Bob Quinn knew he may have blown his shot at Notre Dame defensive end Julian Okwara.

“Ultimately, after we took Swift, we’re sitting there staring at him, and we’re like, ‘There’s no way,’” Quinn said on 97.1 The Ticket on Tuesday. “‘There’s no way in 32 picks he’s going to be sitting there.’”

Quinn and his staff stayed patient, though. And as the picks continued to show up on the screen, there was no Okwara.

As the second round was coming to a close, Detroit could have traded up to secure Okwara, but they did have contingency plans in place.

“There were a couple other guys that we liked, don’t get me wrong,” Quinn said. “He wasn’t the only guy that we were starting (at). There were probably four or five that we really liked, and we were really crossing our fingers that (they) were going to be there.”

But the Lions didn’t have to settle for second or third or fourth best. They got the guy they wanted, and they didn’t have to spend anything extra to get him.

“It was an easy send of the pick,” Quinn admitted.

The Lions envision Okwara as part of the plan to replace Devon Kennard, who was released this offseason—a decision Quinn called “tough.”

Arguably Bobby Q's best draft.

Was it due to being at home making picks and NOT having everyone in his ear :noidea: and if so, he should continue onward from here doing the same.

2020 Detroit Lions draft profile: Quintez Cephus isn’t defined by his speed - Pride Of Detroit

Quinn certainly has a type when it comes to wide receivers. Creating separation is not required. Speed probably not even preferred. Can you make a contested catch with a defender humping your leg? If yes, then welcome to the Detroit Lions.

Here is what our own Kent Lee Platte had to say about receivers running a 4.70 40-yard dash or worse.

There have been 263 receivers who ran a 4.7 or slower at the Combine or their pro day from 2000 to 2019, but only three who managed a season of 750 receiving yards or better (Anquan Boldin, Jarvis Landry, and Devin Funchess).

All three of those players were drafted in the 2nd round and were immediate starters, with two of the three involved as primary or second targets in extremely high volume passing attacks with over 100 targets a season.

Quintez Cephus' contested catch rate of 61.5% over the past two seasons ranks better than EVERY WR drafted before him.

Better than EVERY WR drafted before him.

just to make it clear

D’Andre Swift may be Bob Quinn’s most important pick ever - Pride Of Detroit

Swift might be the best player Quinn took

With Swift, the Lions get the running back many believe was the best in country last year. He’s getting rave reviews from just about everyone. The Ringer says he has all the makings of a modern day running back. Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller compares him Alvin Kamara, Vegas already has him in their top five bets to win offensive rookie of the year and many draft analysts had him going in the first round as their highest-rated running back. The Lions got a steal... on paper.

Also working to Detroit’s benefit is Swift has been barely used. He comes to Detroit after having just 440 attempts in college and just 196 last year. For comparison sake, Kerryon Johnson came to Detroit after 519 attempts and even more staggering, 285 of those were in his final year at Auburn.

In terms of other running backs drafted around Swift, Jonathan Taylor had 926 rushing attempts at Wisconsin and J.K. Dobbins had 725 at Ohio State. Swift’s usage at Georgia is quite a plus for the Lions.

I think they all had to prepare early and it was harder to change there minds over the phone/chat.
