If Notre Dame was smart they wouldn't tell him at all. History kinda shows that when a player knows he is on the watch list he won't play as good. Seriously.

If Dexter doesn’t play against Michigan, we will need Wimbush in the running game. Wimbush needs to step it up this year to be the guy we thought he would be. If he does reach his potential, this could be a great year for ND.

If Wimbush goes 'Wimbush', from yesteryear, I got the feeling Book's calling won't be long.

wimbush is more physically gifted, but book just seems to make better decisions. i hope kelly has a little quicker hook this year. he should probably think about playing them both.

You nailed it with his traits. Physically gifted & talented (for the most part), but not mentally ready.

If he starts throwing the ball 5 yds into the dirt from his receivers on little dumps & makes the same mental errors as last year, BK won't much hesitate to insert Book. He did it last year and I don't see that changing in regard to musical QBs.

I'm not sure what BK is seeing this year that he's touting the guy, but I hope it's legit. I do believe he deserves the 'benefit of the doubt' and given the chance to prove his worth - the question is, will he reach the full potential?

i was thinking wimbush could play more on the running downs, while book on passing downs.

kelly see's them in practice everyday. so i'll trust his decision.

I get that premise, but I don't like it, since it usually tips off certain plays.

they can always change up, if the other team's defense begins to overplay. wimbush did actually look very sharp early in in last years season. from about miami on, he struggled. i can see the philosophy in playing only one qb, so the offense will be in better sync. on the hand, its nice to have both qb's getting playing time, and being happy, instead of the 2nd stringer sitting all season, and not being prepared when finally being called upon.

i've seen teams use two qb's, and play a little more energized when the new qb came in. the coach could also judge and utilize whoever seemed to have the hot hand on a particular day. the washington huskies of the 90's come to mind, hobert and brunell.

Well with the new redshirt rule they’re going to get Jurkovec into live game situations to groom him earlier. Book is very good but I think the coaches are set on making Jurkovec the qb of the future. Avery Davis never stood a chance either. That’s why he’s a RB now.
