Wait so he's a pussy for going to a stacked team with no pressure to carry them, and he loses respect if he goes to a bad team (that's what bad teams are, inept) to try to bring them back as the alpha? The guy can't win.

Lemme guess, only if he goes back to OKC will you allow it? Also, no one cares.

"Pussy" is not the most accurate term to describe Kevin Meurant.

"Front-runner" is more precise, even when he was in Oklahoma City. The guy was fawned upon when he was 18...A classic example on an individual who was given too much too soon.

Don't do that. Don't do that thing where someone dogs you for posting shit they don't care about, and says so, and you think it means they do. No one cares about your opinion of KD, and me saying so doesn't mean they do.

And it looks like I was wrong, it's not OKC that you would allow, it's Indiana. Because of course LOL

The bottom line is - You care, and so do several others in this thread as well. It wouldn't have taken this whole page for others to consume my opinion if that wasn't the case.

You're trying way too hard (and coming up short).

Yep.

It is the player's duty to put the team first for the duration of his contract. Once he hits free agency? It is 100% about what is best for the player. And that is how it should be.

Hurricane's inability to grasp that is pretty remarkable.

No thanks from this Laker fan. If he leaves, I would expect it to be for him to build his own team around him at some team with cap space and prospects/draft picks.

He should come to MN to be "the guy" that makes them legit playoff contenders then. Imagine how much he could help Butler, KAT, and Wiggins.

Apparently this line doesn't qualify for Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Another one of tlance's classic double standards.

Then please explain exactly how KD is selfish?

He played alongside the biggest ball hog in the NBA and never once complained publically, despite media trying to bait him on many occasions. Now, he is part of the best collection of offensive talent I have ever seen, and it works because he fits the Warrior system seamlessly.

So why the "meurant"?

If it isn't because of his free agency decision 2 years ago, then I think you may just like calling every NBA player you don't personally like selfish.

Nope. Not a double standard.

And what George did is absolutely nothing like what Kawhi did.

As to whether or not kawhi was selfish? Probably at least a little, but nobody outside the SA locker room really knows what went down between him and the organization. Right or wrong, I don't see Kawhi pulling this crap unless he felt completely betrayed.

As usual, Cane's problem isn't with the team he went to, it's with the team that he didn't go to. If he had gone to the Pacers, we'd be hearing all about how awesome and selfless he is.

Problem is nobody wants to play in Indy. It's a worse destination than Cleveland.

What double standards?

PG let the Pacers know plenty in advance that he wasn't re-signing with them. That gave them plenty of time to find a trade partner so that they didn't have to lose him and get nothing in return.

Considering how well Oladipo played and that Sabonis was solid as well, I'd say the Pacers did pretty well for themselves.

If he wanted to, he could have led them on and let them think they had a chance to keep him. Had he done that, he'd be a Laker right now and you'd be still be crying about how "selfish" he is.

As for Kawhi, we don't really know what the hell happened. You have the most closed mouth player in the league and the most closed mouth team in the league. Something obviously went sideways, but no one really knows what and we don't know who's to blame. I'd be willing to bet, however, that if we ever do find out, we'll learn that both are at fault to some degree.

In short, your issue is that neither player wanted to be Pacers. So really, the only selfish one is...you.

Seriously?!? I mean, I know no one wants to play in Indy...but worse than Cleveland?

Seems kinda mean.

Case and point - As a Durant fanboy, you're more than willing to place his teams' past failures on anyone except him. That's how he's selfish... Because he's Kevin Durant, he don't think he should have to be held accountable.

As much as I liked the return we got for him, a 45-win season next season (the most likely scenario, I might add) does nothing for me. We wouldn't be good enough to attract free agents or bad enough to blow up the house completely.

1) I an not a Durant fanboy
2) every single objective poster here places more blame on Russ than KD. That does not make KD "blameless". Even then, OKC lost to the superior team.
3) me attributing OKC's failures to Russ makes KD selfish? Interesting. That is bad, even by your standards.

Agree with this to a point. Imo, if you're not contending for a title and you don't have a way to improve enough to become a contender, then you are bad enough to blow it up.

I haven't looked real close at the roster, but I think you guys are pretty young. You could probably look at seeing how the young guys develop for a season or 2 before blowing it up.

So, someone else not blaming KD for OKC's failure, makes KD selfish?

Interesting "lawjik".

Care to explain how that one works?
