An arrest isn't required, nor does any actual violence have to have occurred for her to get a PPO.

All that is required is for her to convey to the judge that she is afraid that he will do something. Restraining orders and PPO's are easy to get. Judges always err on the side of caution with those because if the guy actually does something, they don't want to be the judge that didn't issue the order of protection.
That makes perfect sense. The post I replied to stated she was in 'clear and imminent danger'. So far I havent seen anything that shows that is true.

Zach Smith is just their fall guy. You can't be calling the man innocent, he was never arrested, there's no proof he abused her, her marks are from him defending himself, she's a crazy drunk and been scheming for 6 years to set-up and take down Zach and Urbs.
Yet out of the other side of their mouths they call Zach a POS and don't rally for his job same as they're doing for Urbs.
They're even calling for the AD to be fired for shit that is all 'contrived lies' by Courtney Smith.
I think they are calling for the AD to be fired because he has now been at the helm for multiple scandals. He may not have known but he is still in charge and I think this has been too many for many Buckeye fans.

Yeah but that would involve some sort of investigation wouldn't it? It sounds like they never looked into it at all. If shes acting nuts don't you also look at the husband and think he could be doing something he's not telling us?
And right now we do not know what kind of investigating they did so it may be a bit premature to jump on them about it. We do know they never contacted her directly, but let's find out what they did know, when they knew it, what they were and were not allowed to do with that, and ultimately what they did with that information.

The longer Urban stays on admin leave now, the more it would look to me like they are still trying to clean up something. I mean if that OSU story is correct and this was pure fabrication from the jump I'd have 100% expected either Urban to not be placed on leave, or have returned fairly quickly as these glaring facts came to light.

We won't know the extent either way until their findings are made public and everyone has time to digest it and refute or corroborate elements of it.

Ok, so tell me what reason actually does make sense then.

This became public, not because of Courtney Smith, but because of Urban Meyer. His comment that he knew nothing about a 2015 incident is what brought this up again. McMurphy was in attendance, and he had reported about the DV allegations in 2015 and had the police report on it.
Once Meyer denied any knowledge of it — he started to look into it more and found info on the other allegations. It is then he reached out to Courtney Smith, who provided him with all the evidence she still had.
So if you’d like to blame the vindicative ex who decided she’d wait three years and 2 protection orders to finally come at Smith/Meyer/OSU — you may want to look at Meyer, because if he had been truthful from the start, none of this may have happened?

This sums it up. My fiancee has worked with him multiple times on projects and can't wait til the day he leaves. Evidently it's a pretty common feeling around folks who work on campus or with the university.

This is all I needed to read. This became public because of McMurphy's report that came out the night before media days. Good god, get your shit together dude.

Let me ask you this — if this was all lies. What does Courtney gain out of everyone going thru this with a fine toothed comb? What does she gain?

It has already been stated — she’s received no financial incentives for the story. So why would she go thru with this if it is all lies? Does she want to be publically humiliated by the entire world?

It makes no sense at all. And I have zero doubt a Columbus radio station is going to do everything they can to disprove it, just like the moronic fans who hold a rally outside the football stadium for Meyer.

So it brings me back to my question — if you were making up a domestic violence story. Would you subject yourself to the most thorough investigation possible for free? Would you drag it on for 10 years? Would you drag it on 4 years after you filed for divorce?
Allegedly she made this up for revenge because he cheated on her. Ever had a wife/girlfriend/etc? Since when does female revenge ever contain rational thoughts of consequences? If that report is true she wasn't looking for anything other than a pound of flesh. Don't piss off crazy bitches would be the takeaway.

Am I right @moxie?

As did Courtney's mom... way to read, champ.

Read it more closely. Courtney's mom didn't say she thought Zach Smith never hurt her daughter. She said she didn't think he meant to hurt her daughter.

The guy is a POS. Covering for him doesn't make anyone look better, either.

To me it looks like everyone knew Smith was a POS and they also figure the wife was nuts if only because she didn't leave him till years later. They have no love for Smith but the only way this doesn't make them look bad is to make her look as crazy as possible and with an abused woman who would call the cops but then take her husband back its not that hard because most sane people wouldn't stick around for more but we are back to shes nuts. lol.
. There's going to be little to investigate because most of this shit happened between them at home. The rest is just stuff people did see and I'm sure there was a time where she was not wanting him to get canned and downplayed things. They are both a mess and you can't trust either of them. But only one of then worked for Urban.

If that were the case — why wait 3 years? Why not use it in the divorce hearings? Why not use it in the middle of a season if she wanted to screw over Meyer and Smith?

I agree — most women are bat shit crazy. But if this women was out to be vindictive — waiting three years makes no sense at all?!?

It's not looking good for Urban. He is currently banned from campus & from contacting any players or coaches at OSU. This probably ends with him agreeing to resign & getting a decent severance package, but not his full buyout. Gene Smith will probably lose his job, also.

...

Carano preferred to communicate with Snook by text.

"I believe that Zach was removing himself from an argument and I do not believe he intentionally abused her," Carano said of her daughter's allegations. I do not believe he actually intentionally swung or punched her. . .no."
Carano confirmed to Snook that she heard her daughter would "take Zach down."
