Forgot to mention to you that I no longer live in PA. Moved out to the Pac NW almost 2 years ago.

Lake Cascade Idaho.

But I had fished Kiski River many times while in PA. Loved that area!
Ah. Lake Cascade Idaho is a little bit further out for me than Lake Cascade PA hahaha.

I've been seriously thinking about moving to Florida. I have some contacts with NASA and SpaceX and I think I could walk into a decent job down there. And the BASS FISHING is way better haha. There's a lake every mile or so. And the southern girls get a lot bigger down there than up here.

Yea quite a bit further...

I went to Florida once as a kid and loved it. We stayed on the panhandle. 1 day in Pensacola, and another in Tallahassee. Beautiful area and I can only imagine the fishing is stellar.

Southern girls... Bigger as in taller? Or are you talkin muffin tops? Those ladies do need lovin' too.

Bigger girls as in fish haha. For some reason in the south (and California/Arizona) it's moderately common to catch a 10lb bass. They just don't get that big around here. Maybe the seasons stunt them some? A 5-6lb bass here is a trophy. It's just another fish down there.

We go to Disney every couple years with the family and stay in Clermont. Kind of dead center in the state. A couple hours east or west to either shore. Close to Orlando but still has that small town feel. We really like it and I'd probably try and get close to that area if I could.

Lol... You know, about a half hour after I posted that it dawned on me that you may have been talkin about the fish.

Seasons definitely stunt their growth. I've never caught anything bigger than 3-5 lbs. But I've maybe only fished once or twice south of 40deg latitude line.

I've been to Florida 3 times now and I've only fished it once, just this past year. I didn't have any luck either but I really didn't do any homework or know where to go either.

Hit lake arthur last night for a couple hours and got skunked. Again. I need to work on walking these frogs. Some nights I can do it and some nights I can't find that rhythm. Probably going to re-focus on the plastics for a while. This not catching fish thing sucks.

It's possible the top water bite just wasn't happening. Top water is a finicky thing. It's usually the last thing I go to because I'm just not as comfortable with it. The fish really need to be aggressive for top water to work.

low light level is the key. Sunrise, sunset, and overcast days are prime time for the top water bite.

The water typically has to be pretty calm as well. You cant be competing with waves of any kind. And I feel like a lot of other things would work well in those perfect scenarios that I just rarely tie a topwater on.

Took my family down to a lake we try to get down on least twice during the summer, watched my youngest (12yrs old) battle a nice 16" rainbow trout in his kayak and at the same time he had a bald eagle trying to take the fish from him, I got a pic and will get it posted.....
