Gonna be great to see this happen. Remember how we kept waiting each time Pettis took a kick in that game to break the record.

Well, I can't wait till Gaskin gets close to 1000 this year for this one.... :hope:

For all of the talk about Browning and coming up short in big games, at least he doesn't cost his teams as many games or as much problems as the QB's in the rest of the conference.

19 TD's to 5 INTS is pretty solid considering the issues they had with injuries at WR/TE last year. Year before it was 43 TD's and 9 INTS. Losing Ross and those injuries greatly limited the overall offense. Well that and Smith running it :tsk:

Jake still ended up with a rating of 152 last season which is 5th all time for a UW QB season. His rating of 167.5 in '16 was an all time team high. His 43 TD's was a team record with the next highest 10 less than that (Price in '11).

So he had a historic campaign in '16 and his numbers were lower last year, but still top 5 in team history.

Of course we all know what we see that doesn't show up in those numbers. I'll contend that Smith didn't put him in the best positions to play to his strengths in games where teams were bringing pressure and he never really had to develop playing under pressure in high school. Of course he needs to make a leap with that this season if they are to get past Auburn, Stanford, and ultimately the conference title. Hamdan needs to game plan and game prep him for a quicker release passing game in those situations and they NEED a true go to WR to emerge. And fast.

Dawgs are hard at work. Putting that sweat in.

Pac12 media day will be 4 weeks from tomorrow and Fall Camp starts around a week later or so.

Most efficient at preventing interceptions in the league last year.

I don't dismiss Oregon's talent and depth, nor their QB. First year HC creates an unknown and I'll believe they can stop both the run and pass when I see it and not before.

The reason Stanford presents as the biggest challenge IMO is Bryce Love. I don't fear the passing game of either, but Love is a different level runner. The ducks have had that dangerous running game in the past, but I'm not buying their OLine and commitment to it the way they did under Kelly.

UW gets Stanford at home, while the ducks get both of us at their home. That's an advantage for the ducks for sure. I still have a hard time discounting either Petersen or Shaw in favor of a new HC. All 3 have talent, but who will use it to it's fullest?

Ducks for sure are a threat to anyone they play and should make some waves. I'd expect they will upset someone. I'm just more concerned about that Stanford line and Bryce running behind it. Even with it at home.

Furd has road games against ND, Oregon, and UW and that's really the toughest part of their schedule. Their other two OOC shouldn't be a problem. The ducks have 3 utter and complete bullshit OOC to open their season so they have a 3 game preseason in essence. They get Utah, WSU, and Zona on the road (Cal and the beavs as well, but who cares).

There i no doubt Oregon has a dangerous team with an easier schedule (understatement) and yet I still can't pick them as the biggest challenge in the North. Stanford was underrated nationally last year and still took the North. Shaw can't be ignored, or do so at your own peril. He's had consistent solid teams since taking over for Harbaugh.

Also, we have seen many times over the years where a cupcake schedule fails to prepare you for the toughest games. Ducks have Stanford in game 4 after their jokes to open, while Stanford has USC week 2 so they will have at least had to prepare for a real game and have been tested.

Lastly, it does feel like the conference wants Oregon to make waves. They not only get UW at home, but after their bye. :L
We all remember what happened last year with ASU with UW playing down there after they were coming off a bye.

All of that, and I'm still 60/40 on Stanford. Just too many coaching changes for the ducks the last 3 years to expect that talent can be dialed up and playing at the level necessary to take out two programs running at full speed.

Awww, damn it. There was a duck fan that responded to this tweet

With the statement that the ducks were going to win a 'natty' next year. It had created a bit of a firestorm and some of the responses were just gold.

Seems it got entirely deleted by this morning so the post above got a bit ruined.

Not sure how high I am on our new game caller, but it's another sign that the season is getting closer day by day.

Rondeau had one of those voices that will never be matched. He was intense.
He lost his voice a few times in the early 90's. For a guy that went to school at Colorado, there isn't a bigger Husky than Bob.

Hard to follow a legend. I listened to the new guy a couple of times during basketball season and he was ok. There wasn't anything I was annoyed with so that's a good sign given us old fucks are pretty easily annoyed.
