No one's saying they suck. That's not the point. The point is that the media loves to talk about the Lakers because they are the NBA's glamour franchise.

When the Lakers are championship contenders. The media loves to talk about them, how great they are, how great whatever star player they have is, etc.

When the Lakers suck, they love to talk about what is wrong with the Lakers and how to fix it.

While the Lakers have had bad teams since the Dwight/Nash thing blew up...the Clippers have had arguably the best run of success in their history. Yet, everyone wants to talk about the Lakers.

Watch when the Lakers play in other cities. Even as a bad team, you will often see an unusual number of Lakers jersey's in the stands.

If you talk to/read pretty much every member of the media, they will tell you that they get far more clicks off of Lakers stories than any other team.

There is no question that wherever Lebron goes, it's going to be huge news. He's the best player in the game.

But watch, if Lebron doesn't go to the Lakers, the next biggest story after where he went will be..."Why didn't Lebron pi ck the Lakers and what does it mean for them?" and every talking head/talk show out there will be weighing in on that.

i know no one said the Lakers sucked...Didn't say the Lakers aren't a glamour franchise either. I get the media loves to talk about LA as your mentioned they do have a but load of history and intrigue, I get all of that, never thought they didn't. I just think no matter where he winds up going it will be a media blow out and huge news and talked about 24/7... it's just that LA has a bigger media market and yes more history so naturally one would think he would be a "bigger" deal for those reasons if he went to LA.... I just think it would be very similar in any market.. the media would follow him no matter where he went...

I would assume that that if he goes to the Celtics, Kyrie will be traded.I think they may have to give up another player or 2 as well, but I'm not sure.

Harden would definitely be the the issue in Houston. He is pretty much useless without the ball in his hands. I think Lebron and CP3 could play together really well. The problem is that CP3 is older and injury prone. That's a big part of why he left D-Wade and the the Heat.

If the Spurs work thing out with Kawhi, they are the best fit from a basketball perspective. But not much else. If his motivation is strictly another ring or 2...that's likely his best shot. But folks are saying he may be looking at lifestyle for his family, etc. in which case they would be about the worst fit for that.

All those are longshots imo.

I really think it is between two teams:

LA and Cleveland.

Cleveland is his home and maybe they can pull off some big trade but they have the experienced roster just not much flexibility.

LA has a young team and enough for two max guys. They also have a very flexible roster. He also has homes in LA.

Down to two. Who does he pick?

If Lebron and PG13 do go to LA I will think Lebron will want them to do a handful of things and the first thing is trade for another All-Star.

Trade Lonzo, Ingram (I like Kuzma the most out of those 3) and draft picks.
Trade Deng.
Try your to get Randle to take the qualifying offer or resign him. (Getting rid of Deng contract is huge in this process).

He isn't going to Boston. Will Ainge kick the tires on it, you betcha but he's not coming here... I really hope they keep what they have right now and obviously get a healthy Hayward and Irving back...

I think it's either LA or Philly and Houston has an outside shot... I think Cleveland would have had a good shot had they won the Finals but since they didn't and what they truly need to help Lebron they are out....
