I don't think it'll make Karlsson cheaper. I think that's going to be a massive return if he is moved.

I don't understand why people keep bringing up Hamilton in trade stuff. Why would the Flames move him? 5.75 through 2021 for a top pair dman is a steal. His rationale is akin to trading Provorov because you have Sanheim and Myers. Doesn't make sense.

ROR, Skinner, Pacioretty, and Kessel would all be interesting though. Enough to kick the tires. As mentioned before, Skinner is my guy as far as trading for a scoring winger goes.
Im hearing Pacioretty to the kings is heating up.

It's funny because now with Hextall running the show, the Flyers are never being discussed anywhere with trades or rumors. Our past GMs, the Flyers were linked to almost every trade rumor on the planet, lol. I kind of miss the rumor mill though. No headlines for our boys these days. Gotta give credit to Hextall for keeping things closed publicly.
I think Hexy keeping things in house is a good thing. Let all the speculators talk and then when he is ready he strikes without notice. The only part of this that i dont like is he strikes free agents without notice like Weise and it winds up sucking for years.

If Wahlstorm or Tkachuck is around at pick number seven i trade the 14th and 19th pick for one of them. Otherwise id like to get Galchenyuk from the Canadiens. Im also good with Rheinhart a favorite of Mall

I'm good with those options too.

If Vancouver's 7th overall pick is on the trade block, perhaps we could trade pick #14 and #19 to them for #7 and #68, since we no longer have one in that round (Detroit).

Seems like a fair trade to me, especially if we really like someone at #7.

Size that I would be more interested in..

Hanzal (6'6 230) - Plays the PK significantly, dominant faceoff guy. Only issue is he's 4.5 mil and coming off spinal fusion surgery

Ward (6'2 225) - Plays some PK, UFA and could come cheap and short duration

Tuch (6'4 220) - Brings size and some decent scoring. Nothing on the PK though. But he'll be tough to pry from Vegas (RFA)

Lowry (6'5 220) - Size and big PK minutes. RFA in WPG, might be tough to pry him away.

Just to name a few. I'm not against size guys, but they have to bring something other than size. Scoring, PK ability, something.

Man this guy would be a great contribution. Pretty physical, put him and Hagg together!

Ya.. if that stuff is true I wouldn't touch him with a 10 ft pole. Team chemistry/culture is more important than 25 goals. Sens are in a bad spot here, no wonder everyone has come out and said Hoffman is definitely moving in the past couple weeks.
Well I guess we could be friendly and let Karlsson come play for us, trust me he would get no harassment here.:10:

It would be great if Morin 6'7" 227 pounds could step into that role when he gets back so we dont have to pay anything for Lowry.
Imagine if we did sign Lowry and Morin came back and were a pairing. I would have to believe that would be the biggest defense pairing in history. Man i would love that.

Lowry's actually a center

Would be a giant pairing though!

NHL Mock Draft 2018: Flyers make a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs

Check out this trade they have us interested in doing.

I don't like this at all.

1. I think that's bad value for Simmonds. If Schenn could return two 1sts, Simmonds should get more than a late first, a mediocre prospect, and the rights to a decent 3/4 C.

2. If they move Simmonds, I want NHL talent in return. I don't want 1st round picks or prospects that still need a year or two of seasoning.

3. I'm not interested in moving Simmonds honestly. Play out the year. If the season is in the shitter come the deadline, sell him. If you're having a good season, keep him and assess the contract situation in the summer. If they were to move him this summer, I can basically guarantee he's the type of player they'll be looking for come March. Might as well just keep him.

I think it's actually pretty embarrassing that they'd accept that trade when they're paid to write about the Flyers. If that's the best deal offered, so be it. Take your Simmonds and go home. That just reeks of them feeling like they HAD to trade Simmonds, which is silly.

Simmonds is also one of the leaders of the team he may just be the captain of this team without actually wearing the C. Not to mention i dont like the guys wed be getting back in this trade.
If we did trade someone and wound up having another 1st round pick that would make me think we are definitely trading two firsts for a top 7 pick.

Yep. I really don't like the common narrative right now that they need to trade Simmonds this summer. That's just not true at all and I think it would be a very big mistake. Selling low on a heart and soul player is a bad plan.

I would rather lose him for nothing to free agency next summer than do that deal honestly.

.

Don't forget that the Flyers agreeing to take on Lehtera's bad contract was also part of the trade.
