Thats why I really wasnt that upset about this loss like previous year loses. I still pinpoint that Hertl penalty as the backbreaker in the series. But overall the team had TONS of chances and when you run into a goalie as hot as MA Fluery was, you cant really be mad since the offense was doing their job for once and peppering him with a lot of quality shots & efforts. It wasnt the normal Sharks putting up 40 shots a game but them all being far out, right into the goalies chest BS they usually do. Plus we seen something we've never seen - when they got down in a game, they didnt quit (besides game 1)...
I’d say the back breaker was the tying goal in game 3, I didn’t like the Karlsson goal to start the 2nd either way out in top of the circles and a 6’4 goalie is getting beat over the shoulder blocker side that’s horrendous

To think the Sharks were the 2nd best team in the West this year... It’s John Tavares or die at this point. We have to somehow pry him away from Nashville, Winnepeg, the rest of the leave or even Vegas... How are we going to pull it off?

well, 1/2 of the offseason is almost done as reports are that they're near a deal with Kane. Tavares up next?

Kanre signed for 7yrs 49M... But the year by year breakdown is really odd to me. It goes 6M, 6M, 3M, 7M, 5M, 6M, 4M with 12M in signing bonuses spread out for the duration...

The only question I have is do we have enough cap space to sign John Tavares? Because that’s all I care about at this point.

Well, as I mentioned. Kane would go for over 6m per year. I'm not sold that he's worth 7m a year but he's young, meshed well with the team, scores, and plays with an edge which was something the Sharks have needed for the longest time. I wish he had signed for 6m but I'm not shocked one bit he went for 7 a year.

But is he actually a 7M per year cap hit?? I dont think ive ever seen a contract with the years delt out like they are with his... Its weird how that 3M is in the middle and then it gotes up down up down afterwards...

i'm too lazy to see who else is due to be a UFA during those seasons but i'm guessing they have their minds on someone =) yeah, it's wonky..usually contracts either start small and finish big or vice versa. regardless, i knew he's stay in the bay - they usually do once they've played there. They never sign any of the big UFA's that haven't been already playing for them so i'm guessing there would be a slim to none chance at Tavares anyway.

Eh Dwill can get creative and move some contracts, Bodeker is actually a moveable asset now, dealing Martin will be the most difficult, but Dwill has done business on cap hit trades in the past with Lou Lamirillo so anything is possible
