Okay, so there’s ice falling off the tower and onto Skydome which means they probably don’t want people hanging around at the base in case death comes from above.

That’s a little more reassuring than “oh fuck they think it’s gonna fall!”.

I'm amazed that long tall cylindrical shaft is still erect in this cold.

Quick, way-too-early offseason observations:

8 of the current forward corps are signed for next year (ignoring Martin).Add Nylander and Johnsson, and that makes 10
(Sadly) 5 of the current D corps are signed for next year
Both goalies are signed for next year.

Focus will (justifiably) be on improving the D. But how? Sign a free agent? Not sure who is out there, but you only have one roster spot unless you trade someone. But who? Zaitsev/Gardiner/Hainsey for different reasons are all basically untradeable and will cost more assets to offload. Yes, the Marlies have some prospects but will team D improve next year? Rielly and Dermott aren't going anywhere.

As much as we want this team to continue to move forward, not sure 2018/19 will be that year. Are they a piece or two away, and so justifying using future assets to win now? Two first round losses suggests no.

On the bright side, the RFA and UFA forwards did nothing to improve their market value, so resigning any of them might be more affordable then we might have thought 3 months ago.
