Wow Sanders gets some serious shade... #1 scorer on the team, 4th in the Big Sky.

Hopefully he plays with a chip on his shoulder on Thursday.

Idaho gets SUU again and the Vandals have had some issues with these guys so far this year. Two wins by a combined 6 points. Idaho giving up almost 50 PPG in the second half alone in those two games. Need to work on that perimeter D and prevent SUU from draining 3's all game long.

Tried to keep watching into the 2nd but once SUU pulled away I knew it wasn't going to end well.... They got smoked. Sanders was cold. 5 for 17 on the night. Brayon carried their sorry asses.

Pathetic

You don't often win when your opponent shoots 61% from three and almost 60% from the floor.

That seems like a fluky shooting night, but this shit seems to consistently happen to Idaho when they play bad teams. Also didn't help that Vic couldn't hit shit.

Incredibly pathetic end to what was, in the end, a very underwhelming season given the expectations.

They'll have the opportunity to play in the CBI or CIT. But for this group of players that a hugely disappointing season.

On the plus side, the women's team actually has a recent history of success in conference tournaments. Playing for the Big Sky title tomorrow.

Next year is going to be... interesting. The big 3 are all gone: Sanders, Blake & Callandret.

Good luck to the ladies today.

Ladies got beat up pretty bad in the championship game. Looks like they will be trying to get into the WNIT.

Men declined CBI and CIT invites.

Next year is going to be rough. Allen and Sherwood the only experienced guys coming back. Probably looking at Geno West, Garrett Kingman, and Scott Blakney as the other starters. All three averaged <6 minutes a game this year. Only other returner who had playing time this year was Chance Garvin.

Hopefully they can bring in a grad transfer or something to get some more depth. Good news is that Don Verlin's supposedly "bad" teams seem to overachieve just as much as his "good" teams underachieve.

Women's BB is in the WNIT. Playing UC Davis tomorrow.

Also, next two years of football basically confirmed. CWU is the DII non-conference home game in 2019. They're real good though so they'll probably end up winning.

2018 Schedule:

09/01 @ Fresno State
09/08 vs Western New Mexico
09/15 BYE
09/22 @ UC Davis
09/29 vs Portland St
10/06 @ Idaho State
10/13 @ Montana State
10/20 vs Southern Utah
10/27 @ Eastern Washington
11/03 vs. North Dakota
11/10 vs Montana
11/17 @ Florida State

2019 Schedule:

08/31 @ Penn State
09/07 vs Central Washington
09/14 @ Wyoming
09/21 BYE
09/28 @ Northern Colorado
10/05 vs Weber State
10/12 @ Portland State
10/19 vs Idaho State
10/26 BYE
11/02 vs. Cal Poly
11/09 @ Montana
11/16 vs Sacramento State
11/23 @ Northern Arizona

Gonna be a LOT of empty seats in Moscow with that dog shit home slate in 2019.

So this is fucked.

Q: Will Mason be the Vandals’ starting quarterback this fall?

A: It’s a battle. It’s between him and another kid. They’ll both play early in the year and we’ll see what happens.

Of fucking course. Mason is going to be the starter next year.

Honestly, just drop football if this is what's going to happen. What the fuck.

All coaches do this even if they know who will be the starter. "Competition breeds excellence."

We know Petrino is the best all-around quarterback that they've got. But honestly Colton Richardson didn't look terribly bad in his first couple games at the end of last season. He's got the better arm out of the group (including Petrino & Dylan Lemle). Obviously his accuracy and mechanics need refinement, but he could get there with more experience. So why not let him compete for the starting position? Nothing to lose really. Richardson would have to walk on water this offseason to unseat Petrino.

Ha, well played.

Based on what I've seen from Mason I'm inclined to believe that this is just Paul trying to get Colton Richardson's fat ass into shape like you said. I really can't believe that a guy who has been an OC at programs like Arkansas and Louisville would trot somebody like Mason out there at QB and expect to win any games.

It's not like we don't already have a decent sample size of both Mason and Colton.

Petrino played one full game against a bottom 10 FBS defense and bottom 10 FBS team last year. Idaho scored 7 fucking points in that game. Mason had one TD pass that came on a screen.

Richardson looked at least serviceable as a true freshman and went 1-1 against teams that won bowl games last year. And in the game he lost he came off the bench down 7-0 after Mason's interception lead to NMSU scoring a TD.

Mason last year:

23/33 for 248 yards, 3 TDs and 2 Ints

One TD came in garbage time against Missouri's fifth string D and the other came when he subbed in for Matt at the Troy 6 yard line for one play. Then obviously his one start against CCU.

Colton last year:

34/63 for 395 yards, 2 TDs and 1 Int in what was essentially two full games against NMSU and Georgia State who both had pretty average FBS defenses.

Hearing from some unreliable sources that Mason has been the entrenched starter since basically last year. Not sure I believe that because I don't think Paul is mentally retarded. But this is Idaho and anything that can go wrong will go wrong.

Per Adam Rittenberg @ ESPN... Source: Idaho cornerbacks coach Aric Williams is joining the San Jose State staff. He likely will coach cornerbacks for the Spartans. Williams is a former first-team All-Pac-10 cornerback at Oregon State.

I'd be pretty shocked if anybody other than Aikeem Coleman gets drafted and Coleman's probably going to go in the 6th-7th round.

I'm sure Matt gets signed somewhere as an UDFA but I just can't see him being any more than a practice squad guy, if that.

Duckworth I think might be able to turn some heads. Really impressed with him last season and I think he's got a shot to make a roster.

Next year Lashley and Ellis should get selected. Best two defensive players since Keo and Vobora. It's a damn shame their Junior season ended up with such a garbage offensive team. Not looking like their Senior seasons are going to be much better.

Well Coleman did not get drafted... And the only news that I've seen from rookie camp invites is Linehan accepting a tryout with the Vikings, and Duckworth with the Jags.
